Clarence is an American animated television series created by Skyler Page for Cartoon Network. Page, a former Cartoon Network's storyboard artist for the series Adventure Time and storyboard revisionist for Secret Mountain Fort Awesome, developed the series at Cartoon Network Studios in 2012 as part of their animated short development initiative. The series revolves around a young boy named Clarence, who is optimistic about everything. The network has commissioned twelve 15-minute episodes, and aired the pilot following the 2014 Hall of Game Awards show on February 17, 2014. In the United States, the series is rated TV-PG.

On July 25, 2014, Cartoon Network announced 13 more episodes for Clarence, bringing the series up to 25 episodes.

When Clarence grows tired of buddy stars, which is Ms. Baker's way of giving her students points for behaving, he creates his own currency: Clarence Dollars. Ms. Baker and Jeff do not appreciate the fact that Clarence is giving out the dollars to kids who don't deserve it. The Clarence Dollars become a huge success and the kids in Clarence's school start to go wild. Clarence then is outnumbered when another kid starts a different fad. Belson then starts to try making "Belson Bucks", but they don't catch on. With the remaining of Clarence Dollars, Sumo gives them to Chad.
