Mahira Khan (Urdu: ماہرہ خان [Māhirah Ḵẖān] Error: {{Transliteration}}: unrecognized language / script code: urdu (help)), (born Mahira Hafeez Khan (Urdu: ماہرہ حفیظ خان [Māhirah Ḥafīz̤ Ḵẖān] Error: {{Transliteration}}: unrecognized language / script code: urdu (help)) is a Pakistani actress and VJ who is noted for her role in Humsafar as Khirad Ehsan[1][2] [3][4] which helped re-establish the popularity of Pakistani-made shows in Pakistan.[5] She has worked in television serials including Neeyat (2011), Humsafar (2012), Shehr-e-Zaat (2012) and Sadqay Tumhare (2014).[6][7][8][9]

Early Life

Khan was born in Karachi, Pakistan. She did her matriculation from Foundation Public School, she then went to California for higher education, where she studied at the University of Southern California, before returning to Pakistan in 2008. She worked at a local store in the USA as a cashier before rising to fame[10].

Career in Acting

Rise to Fame

The Pakistani serial, Humsafar[14][15] was aired in India twice where Mahira Khan won the hearts of millions in India. She visited India[16] in the month of November 2014 and made several appearances in various cities[17] through the Zee TV network[18]. She has been offered some opportunities in India[19], but not yet confirmed[20].
