History

Originally Emotion Media Factory was established in 1984 as Laserland. The original founders where Ralph Douw, Helmut Dörner, Robert Huber and Serge Douw. Among the first clients of the company were BMW, Siemens, Pepsi-Cola and Audi. [3]

In 1990 Laserland has been restructured as Laserland GmbH, enabling the company to pursue international interests. In 1992, Laserland was responsible for the multimedia shows in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for world leaders at the United Nations Earth Summit. In 1996 a fully automatic laser show system was installed on the new German cruise liner, the AIDAcara. It was a start of the long term cooperation between AIDA Cruises and Laserland.[4][5]

An opening and closing ceremony for the World Squash Championship in Doha 2002 was produced by Laserland.

In 2003 a fully fledged subsidiary was formed in Athens, Greece. After several market establishing events, the following year saw Laserland’s participation in Athens 2004 Olympics Games, with over 75 shows throughout the course of the games. In late 2004 a Laserland’s product the HoloPort was completed in the Futurescope Film Park in Changchun, China. The following year Laserland finished the multimedia installation in Hyderabad, India.

Additionally, the Holoport technology was installed in the ultra-modern Beijing Capital Museum in 2005. Laserland’s show production team continued partnership with BMW and produced a number of events, including simultaneous Germany-wide launches for BMW 1-Series and 3-Series in 2005.

The turn-key project of multimedia fountain installation was completed in Kangwon Land(Hangul:강원랜드), Korea’s leading casino in 2006. The installation includes one of the world’s largest moveable screens set against a giant outdoor glass ‘magic cube’.

Laserland developed the centre point of the Chiang Mai Night Safari Park, in Northern Thailand. This permanent installation delights guests every night with floating platform fountains, water screen featuring light, laser and video.

In the beginning of 2008 Laserland GmbH was rebranded to Emotion Media Factory GmbH (EMF). Laser became only one part of the core business of multimedia.

In South Korea Emotion Media Factory was commissioned to install a massive outdoor entertainment installation. The installation, which was a three phase project over the years 2006, 2007 and 2008, features one of the largest fountain multimedia installations in Korea, including, water fountains, fire, laser, light, video and sound.

Emotion Media Factory continued its association with the cruise ship industry in 2007, with the new AIDA cruise ship Diva, featuring a unique laser installation. Two more AIDA vessels in 2008 and 2009 respectively feature Emotion Media Factory installations.

Awards

Emotion Media Factory has received award “The Best Building and Construction” of the year 2012 for their project of Multimedia Fountain Roshen[6]
