Love for the Elderly is a [501c3 nonprofit organization]] with volunteers from 56 countries.[1] Founded in December of 2013 by then 13-year-old Jacob Cramer as a small project[2] with the mission of showing seniors "the kindness they deserve,"[3] Love for the Elderly has since grown to become a global organization that has impacted thousands of seniors through its various programs, including Senior Buddies (a pen-pal program between impoverished students and seniors), SunshineBox (a newly-launched initiative where seniors are gifted boxes of 'sunshine' to brighten their day), and most notably, Letters of Love (a letter writing initiative that has distributed thousands upon thousands of handwritten letters to lonely seniors).[4]

Press coverage

Cramer's nonprofit has garnered significant press coverage, particularly in 2016. Love for the Elderly started small through features in The Chive,[5] Cleveland Jewish News[6], but recently, it has become a national phenomena, gracing the cover of American Profile, being in GLAMOUR Magazine's 31 days of kindness alongside other notable nonprofits like Oxfam and One.org,[7] [[USAToday[8]]], and on a segment of HARRY called Super Teens. Love for the Elderly is also one of the 5 critical members of the acclaimed World Kindness Movement USA[9]
