The “Lebanese Arm Wrestling الكباش اللبناني” is the first organized competition of [[arm wrestling]] sport in Lebanon. The strongest arms of the different regions of Lebanon will compete week after another. Every region will wrestle a full day to secure top qualifiers from each category; they will represent their regions and fight for the title during the Finals.
The final competition will face a high level supervision by international certified and experienced referees to push our Lebanese arm wrestlers to the limit of choosing a National team and represent our country in the world championships and cups. Many of these Lebanese fighters do not take part of any kind of sport activity on daily base, but for arm wrestling adrenaline, for the pride and glory the sport offers and for the stories of our grandfathers, they will show up.
The founder and president of the Lebanese Arm Wrestling Federation, Mr. Karim EL Andary, have made a great step by putting Lebanon on the World Arm wrestling map and he re-formed an ancient game into an organized sport competition with rigid rules. With his vision and planning, Lebanon is member of congress at WAF, the World Arm wrestling federation and member of congress at EAF European Arm Wrestling federation. It means Lebanon has an open gate for a brand new popular competition opportunity.

Mr. Karim EL Andary is today preaching the philosophy, technics secrets and refereeing rules of the arm sport in Lebanon by calling continually for weekly seminars, after he acquired the high technics level in refereeing from WAF head of referees the American, Mr. Leonard Harckless and EAF head of referees the English, Mr. David Shead as he follows the book of rules and regulations of the world mother federation WAF in all professional current norms and standards.

Armwrestling can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt where a painting depicting a type of arm wrestling was found in an Egyptian tomb dating to about 2,000 B.C. The year of 1979 was a very busy and important year and that same year, John Miazdzyk hosted the very first World Armwrestling Championship in Canada. Four countries were represented. <ref>http://obaranje-ruke.hr/armwrestling-history/croatia/armwrestling-history/ </ref>
The sport of arm wrestling has started since the days humans figured out they had arms. Pictures of arm wrestling competitions have been found on ancient Egyptian tombs from thousands of years ago. Thousands years ago there was no basketball court, no tennis racket, no soccer ball, not even a running shoes, but wrestling with arms was there.
Arm wrestling tournaments are also divided into weight classes as well as left and right-handed divisions. Furthermore, strict rules such as fouls given to penalties (such as the competitor's elbow leaving a matted area where the elbow is to remain at all times, or a false start), and trying to escape a possible arm pin by breaking the grip with the opponent may result in a loss at the table. Today, arm wrestling competitions are held around the world for men, women, kids and disabled in various weight classes. A World Arm Wrestling Championship is also held each year, featuring the best arm wrestlers from more than 52 countries.<ref>http://www.wikihow.com/Win-at-Arm-Wrestling</ref>
Arm wrestling involves two participants. One places one arm on a surface with their elbows bent and touching the surface, and they grip each other's hand. The goal is to pin the other's arm onto the surface, with the winner's arm over the loser's arm. There's no instant replay. As for the fouls, pullers have to keep one elbow on the table and their opposite hand on a handle grip. Shoulders and wrists must be squared off, and thumb knuckles must be visible. Matches can last up to about twelve minutes or can end after a second. Skills required in each hand are speed, strength, endurance, technique and resistance.<ref>https://effectiviology.com/how-to-win-at-arm-wrestling/</ref>
The game of arm wrestling is now booming worldwide, this can be attributed to several reasons. Competitors from every walk of life can participate in this competition. It is an activity that almost everyone has been engaged in at one time or another, usually first experienced during childhood. It knows no age no international boundaries. You don't have to be the biggest, you don't have to be the strongest; Opportunity for all to win the title is open to everyone.

The sheer ferocity with which the top-notch professional and amateur athletes compete makes for most compelling viewing, both for those in attendance at the events and those watching the broadcasts. This means large participation, big exposure and big excitement.

The arm wrestling match. It’s one of the manly feats of strength that every man will face at least once in his life. You never know when you’ll be challenged to display your manly strength, so you need to be ready to place your elbow on the table at any time. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to have cannon balls for biceps or forearms like Popeye to win at arm wrestling, though they do help immensely. But with a bit of technique, a dash of speed, and little strategy, you can beat an opponent at arm wrestling who’s stronger than you are.<ref>http://www.artofmanliness.com/2009/03/20/the-art-of-manliness-guide-to-arm-wrestling/</ref>

The toproll is a great move to beat your less experienced friends with. If you win with a toproll, you are winning with leverage instead of brute strength. This is because the toproll is what is referred to as an "outside" move. You are trying to put tremendous pressure on your opponent's fingers, causing his hand to open up and allowing you to gain leverage. When the opponent's hand opens up, it allows you to get further out on his hand (toward his fingertips) and makes it very difficult for him to "outmuscle" you until he regains his hand position. You, of course, should fight to maintain and improve your hand position, thereby taking his (possibly) more powerful arm out of the match! If you do it quick enough, he will have no idea what happened! http://www.eiyc.com/toproll.htm
The hook is the most common move in arm wrestling. You are probably familiar with the hook, because it is the move that is used when arm wrestling is portrayed in bars and elsewhere on TV. It is considered an "inside" move, meaning you are trying to beat your opponent's arm instead of his hand (as you do in a top roll). To be successful in a hook, you should be stronger than or at least equal to the strength level of your opponent. You need not have as good a bench press or squat as your opponent, because this strength counts very little in arm wrestling. Instead, try to gauge your forearm and bicep strength against that of your opponent. If you believe that you are not as strong as him or her, try top rolling instead. If, on the other hand, you compare favorably to your opponent, you can really blast him in an impressive manner with the hook. <ref>http://www.eiyc.com/hook.htm</ref>
