But it seems they are inconsistent in their reporting because some of the times stated do seem consistent with what I would expect for just driving (where the numbers suggest about 80km/h). Hi Kerry, can you please take a look at [[Draft:Commonwealth of Australia Gazette]] - as a librarian, you may have a better perspective and be able to help here. The draft was started by another editor back in March, then [[User:Doug butler|Doug Butler]] recently fleshed it out and submitted it, but this has now been knocked back twice, most recently on the grounds of being "not adequately supported by reliable sources". However, of all the comparable articles in the [[List of government gazettes]], only one has more citations (the US government's ''[[Federal Register]]'', and it has more than twice as many as the articles for the Canadian and UK governments' official publications. Given the subject matter of the article, I thought that this rejection was very unreasonable, and [[User_talk:DrStrauss/Archive_3#Trouted|trouted]] the most recent reviewing editor, but his response seems rather lame. (Disclaimer: I have met Doug Butler a few times when he came to the [[Wikipedia:Meetup/Adelaide|Adelaide Wikipedia User Group]] meetings I organised over the past few years, and consider him one of our best local editors.) :{{ping|CNMall41}} The distillery is my local area and I know it has [https://www.beenleighrum.com.au/ recently reopened as a "craft" rum distillery] after having been closed for a few years (so the 2014 Flickr photos are probably from that period of closure). The "2016" photo you found is well-known to me (I uploaded it!). I found that photo on heritage register's website on a webpage last updated on 20 January 2016 (hence the date noted on Commons) but generally heritage register photos are taken at the time of their listing, so it probably was taken around 2004. The only way to know what it currently looks like is to go out and take some photos, hence the use of the template to alert local Wikipedians to the need. If you are not familiar with the template, it puts the photo into a local area category ([[:Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Logan City]] in this case), which includes [https://tools.wmflabs.org/wp-world/googlmaps-proxy.php?page=https:%2F%2Ftools.wmflabs.org%2Fkmlexport%3Farticle%3DCategory:Wikipedia_requested_photographs_in_Logan_City&output=classic a map] which shows us locals where to go to take the required photos. This is kind of a difficult issue for us for a few reasons - after all, contemporary newspapers and even many books (especially, but not exclusively, older ones) default to referring to ''everyone'' by initials exclusively well into the 1950s and beyond. (A particularly famous case: [http://trove.nla.gov.au/book/result?q=%22s.m+bruce%22]) However we have generally avoided initials on Wikipedia - the only other examples I can think of are [[H. V. Evatt]] (which I also don't really agree with - why not Bert?) and [[H. G. Nelson]]. Generally this is really a ''style'' issue - I've seen plenty of books referring to E.G. Whitlam and R.G. Menzies, and even occasionally J.M. Fraser, R.J.L. Hawke and P.J. Keating. :I imagine his family and friends might have called him Tom, but I suspect he couldn't be commonly known as Tom Ryan in public life because of the earlier [[Tommy Ryan (politican)]]. Both were Thomas Joseph Ryan, both were Labor, and both were the member for [[Electoral district of Barcoo]], but were not related to one another as far as I know. That's quite a coincidence, and I am guessing that led to a need to distinguish between the two men and why T.J. acquired the moniker he did (whether by his choice or the newspapers). I think I will move the article back to T.J. Ryan as Tom Ryan really doesn't sit comfortably with me. I might add in a hatnote for Tommy Ryan (whose own article hatnotes T.J.'s). In unfortunate timing, I have actually just moved off Queensland politicians into SA; I am moving through the candidates pages and bringing them all back to the formation of the Nationalist Party in 1917. Once I've finished SA and WA back to that point, though, I will be returning to Queensland (and Victoria and Tasmania) and attempting to sort out the godawful mess that is pre-1917 liberal/conservative party/party-adjacent politics (candidates pages are a great way of clarifying these sorts of things before looking at electorate pages or the members lists). In the distant future when that happens, I will certainly keep an eye out for possible candidates for you - if you haven't got to them all by then, of course! I would offer to send some SA politicians your way (there are MANY tiny stubs), but I know you're Queensland-focused and anyway SA has by far the worst parliamentary website for biographies so they'd be a lot tougher to fix for trainees. (If I may offer a few non-biographical suggestions: I threw together [[Northern Country Party]] from very little and it could use some work, and the virtually-untouched-since-2006-or-so [[Douglas Credit Party]] also needs sorting out since I suspect it's trying to cover about three separate parties at the moment. I don't know if these might be too complicated for your purposes though.)

The "2016" photo you found is well-known to me (I uploaded it!). I found that photo on heritage register's website on a webpage last updated on 20 January 2016 (hence the date noted on Commons) but generally heritage register photos are taken at the time of their listing, so it probably was taken around 2004. The only way to know what it currently looks like is to go out and take some photos, hence the use of the template to alert local Wikipedians to the need. If you are not familiar with the template, it puts the photo into a local area category (<a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./Category:Wikipedia_requested_photographs_in_Logan_City" title="Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Logan City" id="mwAVc">Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Logan City</a> in this case), which includes <a rel="mw:ExtLink" href="https://tools.wmflabs.org/wp-world/googlmaps-proxy.php?page=https:%2F%2Ftools.wmflabs.org%2Fkmlexport%3Farticle%3DCategory:Wikipedia_requested_photographs_in_Logan_City&amp;output=classic" id="mwAVg">a map</a> which shows us locals where to go to take the required photos. There are a few advanced things you can't do with tables in the Visual Editor, but you can just switch back to the source editor to do those after you've done the bulk of the work of populating the table visually. It's a massive time saver. I use the VE myself now for most of my editing of content and mainly use source editor for heavy-duty template work. The VE works quite well at populating simple templates, and indeed very well if that template has had Template Data added to it so the VE can present it to the user to fill in with information/examples on the fields, marked as mandatory/suggested/deprecated etc, which are the basic fields (always shown) and which are the more advanced fields (user asks for these) and so on. I have added Template Data to my favourite templates because I find it very convenient when I use templates. I feel using both editors makes me more productive as I can use the best tool for any task and can flick between them even within a single edit. Try it! Preferences > Editing > make sure "Disable the VE" is un-ticked and set "editing mode" to "Show both tabs" and you can then use either one as much or as little as you want. This is kind of a difficult issue for us for a few reasons - after all, contemporary newspapers and even many books (especially, but not exclusively, older ones) default to referring to <i id="mwAXE">everyone</i> by initials exclusively well into the 1950s and beyond. (A particularly famous case: <a rel="mw:ExtLink" href="http://trove.nla.gov.au/book/result?q=%22s.m+bruce%22" id="mwAXI"></a>) However we have generally avoided initials on Wikipedia - the only other examples I can think of are <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./H._V._Evatt" title="H. V. Evatt" id="mwAXM">H. V. Evatt</a> (which I also don't really agree with - why not Bert?) and <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./H._G._Nelson" title="H. G. Nelson" id="mwAXQ">H. G. Nelson</a>. Generally this is really a <i id="mwAXU">style</i> issue - I've seen plenty of books referring to E.G. Whitlam and R.G. Menzies, and even occasionally J.M. Fraser, R.J.L. Hawke and P.J. Keating. <p id="mwAZM">In unfortunate timing, I have actually just moved off Queensland politicians into SA; I am moving through the candidates pages and bringing them all back to the formation of the Nationalist Party in 1917. Once I've finished SA and WA back to that point, though, I will be returning to Queensland (and Victoria and Tasmania) and attempting to sort out the godawful mess that is pre-1917 liberal/conservative party/party-adjacent politics (candidates pages are a great way of clarifying these sorts of things before looking at electorate pages or the members lists). In the distant future when that happens, I will certainly keep an eye out for possible candidates for you - if you haven't got to them all by then, of course! I would offer to send some SA politicians your way (there are MANY tiny stubs), but I know you're Queensland-focused and anyway SA has by far the worst parliamentary website for biographies so they'd be a lot tougher to fix for trainees. (If I may offer a few non-biographical suggestions: I threw together <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./Northern_Country_Party" title="Northern Country Party" id="mwAZQ">Northern Country Party</a> from very little and it could use some work, and the virtually-untouched-since-2006-or-so <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./Douglas_Credit_Party" title="Douglas Credit Party" id="mwAZU">Douglas Credit Party</a> also needs sorting out since I suspect it's trying to cover about three separate parties at the moment. I don't know if these might be too complicated for your purposes though.)</p>

Greetings Kerry, we haven't chatted for a while!! Looking at <a rel="mw:WikiLink" href="./List_of_Queensland_state_by-elections" title="List of Queensland state by-elections" id="mwHQ">List of Queensland state by-elections</a>, did the North Rockhampton seat have a by-election in October or was the previous by-election held in June just over-ruled on by the courts in October? I can't find anything for a by-election in October?

I'm going to go turn off {{VEFriendly}}, because something's gone dreadfully wrong with it. It's showing raw HTML inside VisualEditor's wikitext mode, rather than the expected visual mode.
