Lucy Elizabeth Fallon (born 13 November 1995) is an English actress. She is best known for her role as Bethany Platt in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

Personal life

Fallon's parents are Andrew Fallon, an engineer, and Angela (née Ellis), an accountant. Fallon has two older sisters, Laura and Rachel.[3] Fallon attended Hodgson Academy.[4] She then went to Blackpool Sixth Form College, where she achieved distinction star and two distinctions in her BTEC Extended Diploma Performing Arts.[2] Before landing the role in Coronation Street, she had several part-time jobs, including working at a bar on Blackpool Pier. At the same time, she auditioned for roles as a dancer in local pantomimes.[5] When joining Coronation Street, the actress was in a long-term relationship with Ryan Roberts. In 2016, she started dating Tom Leech.[6]

Career

On 29 January 2015, it was announced that Fallon had been cast as fourteen-year-old Bethany Platt in Coronation Street. Bethany had previously been played by child actors Mia Cookson and siblings Amy and Emily Walton between 2000 and 2007.[7] Fallon was nineteen when she was cast as Bethany.[8] Since joining the show her character was involved in a number of storylines, including being bullied, developing an obsession with diet and exercise, and becoming the victim of child grooming and sexual exploitation. The latter received wide media attention and earned Fallon praise.
