Angela Missoni is the creative director and co-owner of Missoni S.p.A[1], guiding the company in its philanthropic endeavors in human rights and women’s issues.[2] Since taking on these key role in 1997[3] from her parents Rosita and Ottavio’s knitwear business, she has transformed it into a fashion giant, featuring evening wear, swimwear, tailoring and more, developing a reputation for keeping the Missoni design company fresh and relevant for 60+ years.[4] She has been recognized in her work in a variety of ways[5] including, being among 12 female recipients[6] of the Women’s World Award[7] at the 2009 World Fashion Award.[8] In 2016 she received the design award from the Museum of Arts and Design.[9] In 2017 she received the Fashion Group International of Dallas (FGI) Lifetime Achievement Award.[10] [11] In 2017 she received the amfAR’s Award of Courage.[12]
