Hashtag United Football Club is a football club based in England. Founded in 2016, they gained notability due to recording their matches, making videos around them, and posting them on YouTube. In 2018, they entered the English football league system and currently play in the Isthmian League Premier Division. They are the first YouTube team of their kind to become a registered semi-professional team.
History
The club was established in 2016 by Spencer Owen and initially played 5v5, 7v7 and 11v11 exhibition games. In 2018 the club joined the English football league system, initially being placed in Division One of the Spartan South Midlands League, before being moved to Division One South of the Eastern Counties League after appealing that it was more suited to their Essex roots.[2]
Jay Devereux was announced as first-team manager on 20 June 2018.
Ground
With Hashtag United becoming a semi-professional team with their acceptance into the National League System, they announced that they will be playing their home games at Coles Park, groundsharing with Haringey Borough. The ground has a capacity for 2500 spectators.

eSports Players/Series
Hashtag United have 4 eSports FIFA players. In 2016, Spencer Owen formed a series called the Spencer FC Game Academy. Over 10,000 Fifa players took part in the qualification part of the series online. The top 10 qualifiers were then invited to be part of the main series. In the grand finale, Harry Hesketh won and claimed an eSports contract with Hashtag United. Harry now posts videos on a channel called "Hashtag Harry" which gained over 100,000 subscribers within his first 3 uploaded videos. His fellow finalist, Kez Brown also makes videos and has since signed for Manchester City as a pro FIFA player. Months later, Hashtag United announced on Twitter that more players would be signed to the eSports team. This included pro FIFA players such as Tass (Tassal Rushan) and BorasLegend (Ivan Lapanje). They soon announced their signing of YouTuber Dirty Mike from the USA.[4] In 2017, Tass and Dirty Mike left the team while Agge Rosenmeier and Ryan Pessoa joined them.
