Vijeyabhaskaran Mohan (born November 14, 1992), known professionally as Vijey is a photographer noted for his still life photography and liquid photography. He is best known for his unique story telling abilities with inanimate objects.

Early life and education

Vijey was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the son of Mohan Kannan and Meenaa Dhevi. Born into a family of Doctors, Vijey was the odd one who took an interest in visual story telling and art. In 2012 Vijey's photography work was selected in a National level gallery show in Hyderabad, India presented by Kalanirvana: International Art Center. This sparked him to make his passion for photography into a career. He attended the SRM University in India for B.Sc Visual Communication and moved to Los Angeles in 2015 to attend Brooks Institute of Photography. After the closure of Brooks Institute of Photography, Vijey joined Mount St. Mary's University (Los Angeles) to finish his B.F.A in photography.

Career

Vijey began working for Bill Cahill, and served as his Intern in 2017. After assisting for several photographers around Los Angeles over the next year Vijey decided to build his own career and began working as a freelancer. Over the course of his career, Vijey has worked for several brands and helping them promote their products through his unique style in photography and story telling abilities. Some of the brands he worked for are Voss (water)[1][2], Simple Green[3], Nvidia, notNeutral, and other bands and directed short Video ads. Vijey's work has also been featured on feature film The Black String[4] and Web Series Thick and Thin. Vijey has also photographed events with Non-Profit organizations like A Walk on Water.
