ODG is a North American manufacturer of Amphibious UTV/ATVs & Gears. The company is based on New Hamburg, Ontario.

History

ODG was founded in 1962 as a subsidiary of a German company, at the time it was located in Kitchener, Ontario. Its purpose at the time was to manufacture power transmissions and gears for the North American continent. ODG designed and manufactured the transmission for the well known Amphicat. Seeing the potential in the amphibious off-road vehicle industry, in 1969 ODG introduced to the world known amphibious off-road utility vehicle, the ARGO. during the following two years ODG grew and it was necessary to expand hence the company was moved to its current location

The ARGO

The ARGO is ODG's main product which is exported internationally to private sectors and public sectors. There are many different ARGO models. Most are either 6x6 or 8x8 vehicles that are design for any kind of environment. The ARGO specializes in many kinds of applications due to its amphibian properties : hunting, fishing, outdoor exploring, maintenance property and even in the search and rescue industry. They can sit up to six passengers whether on ground or water. Argo is marketed through an international network consisting of dealers and distributors all around the world. Argo USA has over 100 dealers and it continues to grow. The most current ARGO available is the 750 HDi, an 8x8 all-terrain amphibious vehicle. The Hdi has an OHV V-Twin liquid cooled 748cc, 31 hp Kohler Aegis LH 775 electronic fuel-injected engine.

Gear Division

The gear division produces small to medium volume gears to other companies. It also doe CNC machining, gear shaving, broaching & key-seating. ODG is also the representative for KRT power transmissions couplings in Canada.

Special Projects

ODG was recently invited to join a team of Canada companies that specialize in space technology to contribute on behalf of Canada with new space technology in the years to come (Lunar and mars mission in the coming years). The rover File:ODG rover.jpg is the current prototype for a possible vehicle that could be used in future space missions. The rover is an autonomous and a remote control vehicle.
