Chemical Science is a peer-reviewed scientific journal publishing findings of exceptional significance from across the chemical sciences.

Chemical Science launched in July 2010 and is published monthly by the Royal Society of Chemistry. Its first impact factor will be released in 2012.[1]

The Editor-in-Chief of Chemical Science is Professor David MacMillan (Princeton University, USA). The Managing Editor is Dr Robert Eagling. The Editor-in-Chief leads a team of 16 Associate Editors who drive the scientific development of the journal and make decisions on the content.

Subject coverage

Chemical Science publishes original research articles of exceptional significance from across the chemical sciences, including organic, inorganic, physical, environmental, green, theoretical, computational and supramolecular chemistry; analytical, materials and nano-science; and chemical biology.

Article types

Chemical Science publishes all original (primary) research in one format: Edge Articles.

Edge Articles have no page limits. They are written in a succinct way; lengthy introductions and discussion, extensive data, and excessive experimental details and non-experiment-based conjecture are not included. Authors make use of electronic supplementary information to store bulky experimental details and data.

Chemical Science also publishes Mini reviews and Perspectives, normally by invitation of the Chemical Science Editorial Board.

International Symposia on Advancing the Chemical Sciences

The launch of Chemical Science is supported by the International Symposia on Advancing the Chemical Sciences (ISACS), a global symposia series.
