Dr. Pravin Togadia (born 1956) is the International Working President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), a Hindu religious organisation based in India.[1]. Togadia is known for making inflammatory Hindutwa speeches.[2]

Personal life

Pravin Togadia was born in an agrarian family in Amreli district of Gujarat in 1956. He became associated with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) from a young age.

He studied medicine, got a bachelor's degree (MBBS) in medicine followed by a master's degree (MS) in Surgical Oncology (Cancer Surgery). He practised as a surgeon for fourteen years and built his own small hospital, Dhanvantri Hospital, in Ahmedabad.[1] He gave up active practice to get involved in full-time activism.
