Jeanne Tripplehorn is actually quite a good actress, acting in all kinds of films from controversial ones to experimental types. Although her role in Basic Instinct was good at the time, she actually got a lot of bad press for it along with director Verhoeven. This was solely because of the fact that it was a controversial film, not because of any lack of talent. The Razzie Awards don't make any real sense and are not serious at all. They are just a bit of fun for some Hollywood circles. Another controversial film that Tripplehorn acted in was Very Bad Things. Leaving the sicker side of the film aside, her role was quite funny. Her acting was good in the film and she was very funny, at least as far as the slap-stick was concerned. It's ashame she didn't do more of that kind of thing.
