Chaz Knapp (b. May 27, 1988) is an American musician and composer/arranger from Moreno Valley, California. [1] He is an active member in Our Brother the Native, and has released several solo releases under his own name.
Knapp was born and raised in Southern California. He began playing the guitar at the age of nine and performing at eleven. At fourteen he began expanding his musical knowledge and learning new instruments, drums, bass, piano, trumpet. [2] At sixteen Knapp started a small label, Delude Records, which introduced him to the Michigan duo, Our Brother the Native. He joined the band and was later picked up by Brighton based label Fat Cat Records.[3] Knapp did a few tours with Our Brother the Native sharing the stage with, Max Richter, Mum, Frightened Rabbit, Joan of Arc and Owen. He began focusing on classical music at eighteen and has since released two albums, Finger and The Silence in November 19, 2010[4] through the independent music label, 351.
