== Adoption Request ==

Hi Charlesdrakew, I am Dishita Bhowmik. I have been on wikipedia for sometime even though I have been more active recently. Your name was listed as Available adopter. I am not exactly a newbie; I know Wikipedia policies, understand vandalism and sometimes review recent changes to find and warn vandals, have created two mainspace articles and done some other work. But I still think that Adoption would help me a lot. Would you like to adopt me? Yours, [[User:Dishita Bhowmik|'''''<span style="font-family:Times New Roman"><span style="color:Teal">Dishita</span><span style="color:Navy">Bhowmik</span></span>''''']] 17:34, 25 February 2020 (UTC)
:To reply please ping because I edit on the web so general mentions don't come up on my notices.

Reverting destination updates

Hello, could You please not revert the updates regarding the new destinations in articles about airports? I see I'm not the first user to be affected. If You do not like stating destinations served in the articles about airports, please propose a rule to not write the "Destinations" section altogether. Until then, please stop reverting well-sourced updates. Ondrusj (talk) 15:07, 3 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Talk to me my friend

Let’s talk,I’m not here to argue but Brighton is not a town anymore can we try and agree on something? Glman83 (talk) 20:31, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly are here to argue. You do not have consensus for the changes you want to make and I fail to see why you have such a problem with the concept of two towns forming a city. Just please stop edit warring before you get yourself blocked, and find something constructive to do.Charles (talk) 21:08, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not here to argue I promise you, a few users have said they are happy with this wording,I don’t know how you can argue with the Queens letter and the email From Brighton MP office, can I just ask why you don’t like the change ? Glman83 (talk) 21:20, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

What is your reliable source? It seems just to be news anyway and not encyclopedic content.Charles (talk) 07:24, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Hi Charles

Thank you for your notes on my attempt to remedy the absence of reference to the Bronze Age settlement in Eastbourne. I take on board your comments which are of course correct. I recognise the need to a) cite references and b) keep it all relevant to the tenor of the page. I will try again this time with references. I received another note saying I had copied and pasted (which I had, from Historic England). I want some of the info on the Eastbourne page but will have to learn to steer a course that avoids copyright infringement. Thank you again. Best regards Dan (user: Cadre2002) Cadre2002 (talk) 16:28, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the barnstar. If you want to start an article I will be happy to help or advise.Charles (talk) 19:25, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent contributions at Extinction Rebellion appear to show that you are engaged in edit warring; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not override another editor's contributions. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Daily Express is RS as far as I know, Daily Telegraph certainly is. Just because you don't agree with something does not make it a lie. You should also consider Biting newbies and civility Lyndaship (talk) 13:32, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Future destinations, again

Please stop reverting properly sourced future destinations in airline articles, particularly Sofia Airport. Longstanding consensus exists this information is okay to add, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports/Archive_18#Future_Destinations Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Airports/Archive_18#Future_destinations_again. This is getting to the point where this is long-term tendentious editing per WP:DISRUPTSIGNS. I kindly ask that you please refrain from reverting any sourced future airline destinations in the future - you of course are welcome to keep reverting unsourced future destinations from these tables. ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:09, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the precepts given by example which have been as helpful to me as any formal mentoring. I would like to think I was as able to deal with editors' faux pas with the same light touch as you have done with me - probably not. I hope your recent reduction in edits has been due to positive real life. Best wishesSovalValtos (talk) 20:19, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt many editors regard me as light touch but thank you. I have been around less lately as I have been busy with Extinction Rebellion Godalming, including facing off with the Metropolitan Police on Whitehall. We are after Surrey County Council to stop investing in fossil fuel companies and supporting drilling in Surrey. As Surrey County Hall is in Greater London we recently went for a peaceful and artistic protest there and found a heavy Met Police presence. It is really good to know you are keeping watch on Wikipedia when I am too busy. Happy solstice and new year to you.Charles (talk) 22:36, 24 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
