== Data Science ==

Is there any way we can add Data Science in this or a related page? For kids trying to pick a degree it really would help. I myself struggle with the relationship between Computer Science and Data Science.

Heraldry/Vexillology

Heraldry and Vexillology are not on this list. According to others on the Heraldry discord server, because there are (according to them) academic papers and conferences that are published on the subject, it can be considered an academic discipline. For example this organization, offers a scholarship for scholars who wish to publish papers under the domain of heraldry. Therefore, is heraldry and vexillology eligible for inclusion on this list? Difference between this list and Outline of academic disciplines?

Can anyone explain what the difference is between this article and Outline of academic disciplines? Should these two lists be merged? Why or why not? In the talk section of Outline of academic disciplines the words "fields" and "disciplines" are used interchangably. What is the difference? If a reasonable difference can be stated, shouldn't a suitable rationale for each article be given in each article's opening paragraph, helping reader's understand why each article exists and how it is differentiated from the other? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ryan Close (talkcontribs) 15:21, 14 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An academic discipline is not the same thing as a field of study

Here it says that an academic discipline is a "subdivision of knowledge that is taught and researched at the college or university level".

The term "field of study" is broader. --Johnmichaelwu (talk) 17:17, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
