You are deleting material pertaining to the Hindu or Indic or Bikramaditto origins while retaining information on the Mughal origins. That is not neutral. Let's move this conversation to the Talk Page of Pahela Baishakh. I will be deleting this section on my Page. This is not the Talk Page to discuss, that Talk Page is. The material you have deleted pertains to the origins of Pahela Baishakh and is therefore relevant.

We're giving identical reasons because that's exactly what the point is. We're keeping the Mughal origin because it's about the Bengali calendar and Bengal region itself hence it's completely relevant while other indic festivals aren't. It doesn't matter who celebrates what on the other parts on other parts of the world. Don't put irrelevant stuff on an article. Vikrami calendar and the event is mentioned is irrelevant stuff on this page. However ,for the sake of relevancy and neural understanding, it's already added in the box, check the related to section. April 2021

Hi Dipendra2007 (talk) Similar events might take place around Bengal, but those have their individual own names and history, is different from the concept ( arguably tax collection) of "Pahela Baishakh" and have their own characteristics. Hence no relevancy in this case. :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tithi.sarkar (talkcontribs) 16:52, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I still do not understand why you reverted my edits supported by citations. The Bengali New Year is celebrated in Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Sri Lanka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Punjab pretty much on the same day. That sure is relevant, is it not? There are parallels here. Dipendra2007 (talk) 16:55, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dipendra2007 (talk), Excuse you? I wasn't the one who reverted your edits through IP address. Please have some courtesy before accusing someone with no backup.

Thank you for letting me know, Tithi Sarkar. I appreciate that. Dipendra2007 (talk) 23:26, 16 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't engage in edit wars on Pahela Baishakh. Consult on the talk page before making any significant changes on the article.(Going to say the same to the other user also)

Vikrami Calendar isn't particularly Bengali calendar hence it's irrelevant to Pahela Baishakh. Adding this to the article will lead the page nowhere, would just cause a mess. If you're concerned about other new year festivals throughout South Asia, add those to "Related to" on the info box or on "See also". Please be co operative with other users, picture discriptions according to the quality/majority of sources and keep the page neutral. Thank you :) Tithi.sarkar (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 23:52, 21 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tithi

I am not sure whether you and that Anonymous IP number are one and the same individual. I did explain everything on the Talk Page and with you bilaterally. You and that individual give the identical reasons to summarily revert the material I had restored. I am only restoring information provided by previous editors (Sarah Welch and others) who had provided robust and rigorous citations. As I said, that page now needs an independent review.

Dipendra2007 (talk) 03:46, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have to agree with Tithi here. Vikrami calendar and other Indic new years aren't relevant to this article no matter how many sources that are based on this. These festivals are already added in "related to" and in "see also". This is a page about Pahela Baishakh alone and let it be that way.Don't make a hotch potch by adding irrelevant topics directly to the article. You can just add those in related to or see also section. Okaymishti (talk) 07:50, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Tamil calendar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Pongal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
