- Following an RfC, consensus was found that third party appeals are allowed but discouraged.
- The 2021 Desysop Policy RfC was closed with no consensus. Consensus was found in a previous RfC for a community based desysop procedure, though the procedure proposed in the 2021 RfC did not gain consensus.
- The user group
oversight
will be renamed tosuppress
. This is for technical reasons. You can comment at T112147 if you have objections.
- The user group
- The community consultation on the Arbitration Committee discretionary sanctions procedure was closed, and an initial draft based on feedback from the now closed consultation is expected to be released in early June to early July for community review.

Ivermectin
Left a message on the talk page of the article that is partly directed at yourself (after yr recent revert). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oska (talk • contribs) 04:10, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
- My edit was explained in WP:ES. If you cannot WP:AGF, a core wikipedia policy, you will not get further response from me. DMacks (talk) 04:20, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
- From your edit summary : "this is a topical aspect". I have responded to this justification in that talk section. I believe it shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what wikipedia is (or should be). Oska (talk) 10:44, 12 May 2021 (UTC)
The removal of my addition
Dear Dmacks,
I am not sure why you are removing my content*. The link shows how to solve mazes in a very practical way using Python scripting. It is just as prudent as the other external links. Please can you explain your rational for removal in relation to the other external links which are present.
Best wishes,
Dominic

Recent changes
- There is a new toolbar in the Reply tool. It works in the wikitext source mode. You can enable it in your preferences. [1] [2] [3]
- Wikimedia mailing lists are being moved to Mailman 3. This is a newer version. For the character encoding to work it will change from
UTF-8
toutf8mb3
. [4][5] - An earlier issue of Tech News said that the citoid API would handle dates with a month but no days in a new way. This has been reverted for now. There needs to be more discussion of how it affects different wikis first. [6]
Changes later this week
-
MediaWiki:Pageimages-blacklist
will be renamedMediaWiki:Pageimages-denylist
. The list can be copied to the new name. It will happen on 19 May for some wikis and 20 May for some wikis. Most wikis don't use it. It lists images that should never be used as thumbnails for articles. [7] - The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 18 May. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 19 May. It will be on all wikis from 20 May (calendar).

Note
Hello, I hope you do not think I was this anon or this other one who made edits to Sundown town. Seriously. I always log in before I make edits on my mobile phone. Since you said "Finish undoing User:Shāntián Tàiláng contradicting talkpage/regs" like somebody was hampering your efforts or something...I mean, you didn't undo my edit until 10 days after it was made, while in that time period, only 4 other edits were made. Shāntián Tàiláng (talk) 02:31, 18 May 2021 (UTC)
- I don't think you were those IPs. You made this edit that involved two changes. An IP (2001:569:72CB:B800:7C07:DC39:AF5E:DBE3 ) undid one of the two changes, and I was undoing the other one. So I was completing what the IP started. They did not use an edit-summary to explain anything, so we don't know what they were thinking. However, I would have undone your whole edit (both parts) if I had seen it first. My edit-summary regarding talk-page (and my mis-spelling of "refs" as "regs") is the reason. You made no explanation of your edit either, so we don't know what you were thinking. But the talk-page has some support for the idea (including cited recent refs) that the phenomenon is not solely historical. DMacks (talk) 02:40, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

I'm sorry
I'm sorry I was vandalizing that video about RBD. It was just because of the cuss words. I wanted to make it safer. PenYesBojNo2007 (talk) 13:23, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
- See WP:CENSORED to learn why our global encyclopedia sites are not allowed to bend to what you personally feel is "safer". DMacks (talk) 13:24, 23 May 2021 (UTC)
parent cat??
what are you even talking about with that edit on addition reactions? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nickpayifson (talk • contribs) 01:54, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
that not even a critique regarding organic chemistry.....?? Nickpayifson (talk) 02:01, 24 May 2021 (UTC)nickpayifson
- "Cat" is short for "Category". Categories are a hierarchy, not a loose collection of tags. Each cat is itself part of one or more "parent" cats, so one can walk up and down to find the more-general topics or a collection of more-specific subtopics. If Category:A is itself a subcategory of Category:B, then the Wikipedia:Categorization#Articles guideline says we should not use both. If it's only about the specific "A" aspect of "B", then we should not list B. If it's about the wider topic of "B" not just the specific "A" aspect, then "B" rather than "A" is more appropriate. So the main article about addition reactions goes in the addition reactions category whereas the subtopic article about electrophilic addition reactions goes in the electrophilic addition reactions category. DMacks (talk) 02:07, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- electrophilic "ADDITION" reaction lol? It's in the name!!! there are a few additional reactions like EAS, NAR, CAR, and CarbAR. Let's say I want to make a new page about ADDITION REACTIONS. Should I request 4 different article pages??Nickpayifson (talk) 02:33, 24 May 2021 (UTC)nickpayifson
That’s one addition reaction you listed Nickpayifson (talk) 02:59, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- You mentioned EAS yourself, so I was going with that theme. But we also do have Nucleophilic addition. Maybe you'd be more clear writing things out in full words to avoid ambiguity or misreading. DMacks (talk) 03:02, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Here I’ll lay it out for you!
Addition reactions (parent)
- Included in this category are these sub cats
EAS ( this should not be a parent cat because it is an addition reaction) NAS CAR etc.....
You literally typed ELECTROPHILIC AROMATIC SUB?? I agree that would definitely be a different cat!
