Hi User:Hmathur127. Writing in your own language means just that. Not changing a word here and there, but from the start having it be only your own. You are welcome to create a new article at the site of the deleted one. I do not see the need for this old version to be revived as a basis for that. And it would be against copyright policy anyway (we are strictly prohibited from hosting copyvio content, even in visible article history). DMacks (talk) 15:55, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
will try to write it again
Thank you Hmathur127 (talk) 15:59, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

My page Inayat Khan (actor)

Dear @DMacks i am a Pakistani actor my name is Inayat Khan. Please restore my page Inayat Khan (actor) which has been deleted by you. Inayatkhanactor (talk) 13:00, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

@Inayatkhanactor:, the Inayat Khan (actor) page was deleted based on a WP:AFD discussion. I do not see a basis to go against that consensus.

@DMacks could you please help me out to recover Inayat Khan (actor) ? Inayatkhanactor (talk) 19:33, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
No. It will not be done. Not by me, not by others. Read what I wrote. DMacks (talk) 19:34, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
The next step for you is WP:Deletion review, but you will have to argue that my handling of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Inayat Khan (actor) was improper or that there are multiple major new notable details that have happened in the past month. DMacks (talk) 19:44, 14 June 2024 (UTC)
unfortunately I couldn’t understand the whole conversation. @BeauSuzanne can you leave me a message on my official verified instagram @inayatkhanofficial i want to recover my wiki page Inayat Khan (actor) Inayatkhanactor (talk) 08:27, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
No. I discuss Wikipedia issues on the Wikipedia site, not on Instagram. No. Your article will not be recovered. DMacks (talk) 11:38, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Inayatkhanactor, How do you know about Draft:Inayat Khan Actor? — Saqib (talk I contribs) 12:07, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
I wrote that "Convenience links" list (I just now re-positioned it to clarify). They have good reason to know about the now-deleted Draft article, since they had created it. Instead, I would ask how they know about Inayat Khan (actor). DMacks (talk) 12:14, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Obviously i am an actor & i like to type my name on google & i like to know about my self, thats how I found my article (page) InayatKhan (actor) on wikipedia Inayatkhanactor (talk) 12:26, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
Dear @Saqib I have been working in industry for 10 years how could you say i am not a notable actor in Pakistan? Haven’t seen my drama Muqaddar Ka Sitara for ARY Digital on YouTube? Blocking of 2.101.54.127 for ban evasion

Hi, I noticed the above IP was blocked for block evasion. It looks like they have a good number of contributions to chemical syntheses. Can you tell me about the reasoning behind this block? If there's some ambiguity about whether or not they were really evading, I'd like to discuss whether the (seemingly) useful contributions make blocking this IP more harmful than beneficial. Thanks for your time. RFZYNSPY talk 22:04, 17 June 2024 (UTC)

It's User:Nuklear. One typical behavior is extensive citing of patents, a type of ref that fails WP:RS. Another typical behavior is extensive uncited lists of related compounds, often that are only redlinks, or even if bluelink are solely listed based on the editor's personal analysis rather than WP:SECONDARY. DMacks (talk) 00:41, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
I see. Wow, that's one dedicated sock puppeteer. Thanks for the answer! RFZYNSPY talk 04:37, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

The user is using different IP addresses and frequently changing the city founder's name. Is it not vandalism? And you will block me for protecting the article from IP disruptions? And I am vandalising and misleading, what non sense are u talking? explain.

With other dubios mobile network IPs that same user made another 100 edits. And you are warning me unecessarily out of personal agenda? Kindly take your word back of final warning. This torture on me from u is not acceptable.Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 02:35, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

Ustadeditor2011 has been reverting edits that changed the "founder" field in the infobox to N. Chandrababu Naidu. The following is a list of edits that made that change. Most of these were by IP editors, some of whom may be the same person. Three of the edits were by logged-in editors. The list shows the edit summary given where relevant to that part of the edit made. Ustadeditor2011 has reverted nine out of the ten edits listed.

Founder of Amaravati

Old City, Hyderabad was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah (died 1612), not some Chief Minister or Politician, who built a software park 386 years later 35 km away in the city of modern Hyderabad during 1990's. Similarly old city Amaravathi is founded by Vasireddy Venkatadri Nayudu (died 1816) not some Chief Minister or Politician who is building a government complex 200 years later 35 km away in the city of modern Amaravati, Pls change it in the Amaravati article's infobox. This is applicable to any city of the world, Amaravati is not unique to this. Just because somebody is a fan of N. Chandrababu Naidu, cannot endorse it to the article illogically.Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 05:14, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

This sort of discussion about an article belongs on the article's talk-page. I will not discuss it here at all. DMacks (talk) 05:49, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
Also mentioned it in article talk page, pls discuss there. Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 06:36, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

Recent problematic edits all seemingly by the same editor, slightly different IPs that resolve to the same area. Nikkimaria & I have both removed an unsourced section, that has remained unsourced even though there has been a maintenance template on it since 2022. I've requested page protection but I see that you have edited this article in the past and thought you might be interested in the recent activity. I have posted to article talk page but I doubt the reverting editor will see it. - Shearonink (talk) 17:48, 23 June 2024 (UTC)

2.101.54.127

Hi DMacks. I noticed that this IP has been editing lots of chemistry articles recently and left a message today on their Talk Page to encourage them to create an account and follow our MOS more fully. When I did that, I noticed you had blocked their IP address for a week starting on 17 June for "block evasion". That presumably means you know which account they normally edit from. Do I need to worry about that, or should I just WP:AGF and move on? Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:01, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

... looking further up your Talk Page, I see the answer! What do we do now? Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:03, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
Indeed a busy bee! The set of the uploads at Commons are being incorporated into articles in a quirky way not in line with MOS:CHEM. That said, a) the diagrams are useful b) the sources are valid (though sometimes too many and mixing primary with secondary and never using our standard citation templates). For example, using this material I was quite quickly able to do something useful with tulobuterol and convert this diff by them into something useful (go to "Next edit" from the diff). I really wish we could get this editor "back into the fold! Meanwhile, I'm getting on with salvage operations (see my contribution history). Mike Turnbull (talk) 18:39, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

@Michael D. Turnbull: I'm not ignoring you, just taking a few days' mostly-offline to recharge. DMacks (talk) 00:13, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

No hurry, it's a somewhat tricky one. I'm continuing the savage work. Mike Turnbull (talk) 10:18, 1 July 2024 (UTC)
I have finally got engagement at commons:User_talk:Nuklear#Droxicam which is minor progress! I know you are an admin on Commons and I'm getting a message on hover-over that link which says the account is infinitely blocked there, which is clearly not the case. Maybe that's what needs to happen next but let's see what response I get in that thread over the next couple of days. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:44, 3 July 2024 (UTC)

Question

Hello. Thanks for the feedback and support. I have a question. So, is it not acceptable to edit someone else's exercise? I think this comes close to vandalism, and do you think there is a protection mechanism in case the said user (User talk:Gonnym) continues such "vandalism"? I hope your engagement and comment was timely. I don't want to cause conflict. I want to wish everyone good luck, but I don't think it's acceptable to edit someone else's exercise... Thank you very much for the feedback. Lasha-george (talk) 17:22, 2 July 2024 (UTC)

It's definitely disruptive, and rude not to explain clearly. It's doubly so when it's something that doesn't actually matter much. Like, I have no qualms removing an "I am an administrator" tag from a non-admin's userpage. But if there is just a syntax error that is flagged on a tracking list, I would instead post a note to their talkpage about it and give them a chance to fix it (or give even a weak reason why it shouldn't be fixed). That way they also learn about the situation, and everyone wins. There's no deadline and things that aren't harmful to others really aren't that important to fix in my view, especially if "fixing" them is itself something that bothers others. DMacks (talk) 16:30, 3 July 2024 (UTC)
That's your opinion, it obviously isn't the community. Lint errors on any page can and should be fixed. There is no leeway for it being on a user page. Gonnym (talk) 08:11, 4 July 2024 (UTC)
My WP:CIVIL-based position is that editors should collaborate and explain their actions, regardless of the basis for them, and help newer or unaware editors learn how to improve. I did not say "don't edit another user's page" or "don't improve the wiki", and you can be sure I know the value of fixing linter. Compare your edit-summary of "lint fixes"[24] and your complete lack of summary altogether[25] to those of other third-party edits at [26]. SporkBot explains the specific action not just the high-level goal and Jonesey95 provides a link to learn about it and polite comment. You obviously did ultimately diffuse the friction in the ensuing User talk:Gonnym#By what right?! and I did not support that any of this is "vandalism". DMacks (talk) 08:52, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

h Visaa11 (talk) 14:21, 6 August 2024 (UTC)

This is a collaborative project. Stop making disruptive edits and others won't feel the need to keep correcting you. It seems pretty sensible that when one mistake is noticed to then look if there are other associated problems (tip of the iceberg). See WP:FOLLOWING for how this is explicitly a valid approach. Thank you for reverting this edit on the Chemistry of ascorbic acid. It's important to address site-wide issues with a consistent approach rather than implementing one-off fixes. Ensure that all entries adhere to the established infobox syntax guidelines to maintain uniformity and clarity across the site. Consider reviewing the guidelines and updating any problematic entries collectively. Sorry for being mistaken. Best regards. HirowoWiki (talk | contribs) 05:18, 7 August 2024 (UTC)
