Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, S at Beyond. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Beyond Meat, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Zefr (talk) 16:19, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hi S at Beyond, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I wanted to give you some unsolicited advice on approaching edits to Beyond Meat with your conflict of interest. You are proposing some drastic rewriting and editing of the article all at once, and that is not likely to yield results in your favor. I recommend proposing smaller changes that are less controversial–get the changes that are not questionable out of the way first. Because Wikipedia is edited by so many, its nature is that articles change bit by bit over time. Sometimes articles have large portions rewritten, but that is normally done by very experienced editors who don't have a conflict of interest. You're more likely to yield results if you request smaller changes with thorougher explanations.

Anyways, I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Our intro page provides helpful information for new users—please feel free to check it out. If you have any questions, you can get help from experienced editors at the Teahouse. ––𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗗𝘂𝗱𝗲 talk 05:24, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
