Antoniów [anˈtɔɲuf] (German Antonia) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Ozimek, within Opole County, Opole Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 3 kilometres (2 mi) north-west of Ozimek and 18 km (11 mi) east of the regional capital Opole.
The village has a population of 1,227.
History
From its foundation in the 18th century the village belonged to the German state Prussia, therefore it was part of the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation (till 1806), followed by the German Confederation (1815–1848, 1850–1866), the North German Confederation (1867–1871), and from 1871 to the German Empire. It belonged to Germany and Prussia till the cession of the eastern territories of Germany in 1945.[2][3]
