History
The Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to civilians (who were usually government workers such as INTAF[2][4]) for "resource and devotion to duty or exemplary voluntary service to the community.", and awarded to military members (used only for territorial, volunteer and reserve forces[4][5]) for "resource and devotion to duty."
Descripition
A silver, 36 mm circular medal, with the obverse bearing the coat of arms. The reverse bears the pick from the shield of the coat of arms encircled by the words "For Meritorious Service". The recipient's name would be etched on the rim. A silver bar would be worn for a second award. There were two Divisions for the medal, one for the Civilian Division and one for the Military Division. The Civil Division ribbon was plain orange, and the Military Division's had multi-coloured stripes.
