Welcome!

Hello Konczewski, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Sources for Turner D. Century

Hello, good work on Turner D. Century, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. From what websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Turner D. Century? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? You can simply add links, or there are several different citation methods list at WP:CITET. Thanks! — BRIAN0918 • 2005-12-4 20:46

  • Looks perfect to me. -- BRIAN0918  21:35, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for articles to work on?

Hello, Konczewski. I'm SuggestBot, a Wikipedia bot that helps new members contribute to Wikipedia. You can learn more about ways you can contribute and find articles you might like to work on by going to the Community Portal. I hope you find this useful. -- SuggestBot 02:09, 13 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Again Dangerous Visions

I suspect that an admin will be needed to disentangle this because I think the book title has the comma, but the page that Konczewski created does not have to comma. Currently there is a circular redirect from Dangerous Visions. Hu 20:41, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, but your change doesn't fix it. The problem is that the article title has no comma, and a comma is needed. Ordinarily one would move that article name, but in this case there is a redirect blocking the path. Hu 21:06, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Konczewski, two days ago (February 17th), you blanked the article Love That Dare to Speak Its Name / Major Cheese with an edit summary as follows: (duplicate article for The Love that dare/Major Cheese; needs deleting). However, I am unable to find the duplicate article that you mentioned. Also, it may be better to make that page a redirect instead of blanking it (For instructions, see here), as blank pages... well.. suck. Just wanted to let you know =) Happy editing! Excuse me

... but don't delete other people's comments on my talk page. It's extremely rude, and completely inappropriate behaviour. Thank you. -/- Warren 12:28, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have expanded this article. I would be grateful if you could take a look and see what you think. Capitalistroadster 10:27, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good re-write, nice one. Regards Martyn Smith 18:16, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a suggestion that perhaps we should limit ourselves to giving only the birth year of a living person, rather than their entire birth date. This is not official policy, but it has been discussed on the talk page of WP:BLP and it seems like a good idea to me. One of the reasons for this is to prevent identity fraud. It just seems like there is little need for us to publicize the full date, even though it is available elsewhere. If you still think the full birth date would be better, then let's take this discussion to the Article Talk page to let others have a chance to comment. OK, thank you for your reply and for your understanding. Johntex\talk 16:01, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Question about biotag

Copied from Lincher's talk page.

Hi, I can see you've been quite busy tagging new biography articles. I'm not really clear if you're expecting a reply or not. Do we, the original article authors, need to respond to you, or to put a comment in the article's discussion area, or what? The sudden and ominous appearance of the biotag makes me think I've done something wrong.Konczewski 11:07, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In short, you don't have to reply. In long, the comment section is a comment I should be filling up but since I tag articles one after the other, I don't have the time to go through the whole article and read and find all the mistakes. For this reason I only add a tag to associate the article in question with the biography project in order to have all the biographies in one place and for that matter we have to assess all the biographies. If you need comments on the article in question, or are unhappy with the rating of an article, you can request comments on my talk page and will gladly answer on the article's talk/comment page. A Round Tuit for Wee Pals

A Round Tuit
I, Agent 86, present you with this Round Tuit for your work on Wee Pals. I have had this on my watch list for months, meaning to expand it once I could get around to it. Obviously, you got one before I did, and you did an excellent job on the article to boot. Agent 86 22:35, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, geez, your thank you really came at a good time. The real world can really suck sometimes, and a kind word from a virtual colleague can be a ray of light through the clouds. I know I've got my cliche machine turned on, but you get the idea.

I don't know that I'm doing anything special, other than going to the Grand Comics Database, Googling a couple different ways, and devoting way too much time. But it's great to feel that someone, somewhere, appreciates the effort. Thank you, K. — you've made my day! --Tenebrae 16:50, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reiko Ike

Hi, Konczewski-- Good job, you beat me to starting that article! I've been accumulating info on Ike, and I'll add what I can to the article later. I'm glad to see someone else cares about this genre anyway. You might want to see if you can add anything to Naomi Tani or Junko Miyashita too. Regards. Dekkappai 23:21, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Konczewski. You did a great job, considering you can't read Japanese. Her family name is Ike (pronounced "Ee-kay", not pronounced like Eisenhower's nickname), taken from her real family name, which was Ikeda. I'm still digging around for more to add to the article-- we need some discussion of her contributions to the Sukeban (delinquent girl) genre, and maybe a brief discussion of that genre too. I prefer to use English sources when possible, as per English Wikipedia policy, and think I may have found a good source that I'll have access to in a week or two. One iffy thing in the article is her birth month. IMDB and some Japanese sources give May. But Japanese Wiki and some Japanese sources give June. We might give both until we find a conclusive source. Dekkappai 17:13, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think all these articles (on erotic actresses or models) are really incomplete without a photo. However determining what is "fair use" is a headache I've usually chosen to avoid. The one fair use policy that I'm fairly sure of is using an image of a film poster to illustrate an article on that film. Someone would almost certainly remove an image of Ike's album if it were used to illustrate an article only on Reiko Ike. But if the article, or a section of the article, specifically discusses the album, an image of the album cover would qualify as fair use, to my understanding. As far as the partial nudity, Wikipedia's policy is that it is not censored. As long as it's not intentionally offensive (and providing an illustration of the album in a discussion of it should not be considered intentionally offensive), it should be OK. Alternatively, we could use an image of a poster of one of her films, or even a DVD cover, in the section in which that film is discussed. That's my understanding anyway... Now that I think of it, discussing the "Pinkie Violence" collection, or one of the other two recent DVD releases, and including an image of that might not be a bad idea... Orphaned fair use image (Image:WonderComics1.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:WonderComics1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
