Nina K. Martin

Nina K. Martin also known as Dr. Martin is an Associate Professor of Film Studies at Connecticut College. She has been working at Connecticut college since 2007. Dr. Martin teaches courses such as "Introduction to Film Study", "How to Read a Film and Studies in Authorship", "Women Directors", etc. Spring Semester of 2023 Dr. Martin will be teaching the courses "Studies in Film Culture", "Clones, Cyborgs, Post human" and "Individual Study in Film Study". Dr. Martin has a published book; Sexy Thrills: Undressing the Erotic Thriller, as well as many joint authorships and Collective works.

Dr. Martin is the author of her published book; Sexy Thrills: Undressing the Erotic Thriller published March 26, 2007.[2] Sexy Thrills: Undressing the Erotic Thriller is a book dedicated to unraveling the homogeneous/ patriarchal impressions on female desire through the examination of thriller films. [3] There is a critical lens on the relationships between feminism, soft-core pornography and sex work in Sexy Thrills.

Dr. Martin is the author of her published article, Dread of mothering: plumbing the depths of Dark Water[5], Volume 50, published by Jump Cut in 2008. In this article Dr. Martin reviews Hideo Nakata's 2002 film, Dark water with a feminist lens.
