::Yes, it says that some years the country had negative gdp growth, but the rest of the line shows it like a positive growth, and it says that in 1980, guyana had a gdp per capita of 12,600 dollars, that would make it one of the richest countries on earth, and gdp nominal and PPP are the same. Outdated
More thn half of these numbers are outdated or very off. This should not be used as a reliable source! USE CIA WORLD FACTBOOK to write articles about this kind of topic, and use IT (CIA) for TRUTHFUL FACTS!!!! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.193.163.234 (talk) 17:41, 5 May 2007 (UTC).
Incoming Major Edits
Since this is a major subject, I want to announce my intention to fix up this article. It's very un-readable and suffers the consequences of Wikipedia:Recentism from being so heavily cited from one economic report that came out some years ago.
1. The first sentence under the lede goes right into Hoyte's presidency-- as if Guyana never had an economy before... which comes off as incredibly bizarre. It needs a historical background section for contemporary economics to make sense, even if brief.
2. The other major issue is that it's just a lump of reading. I intend to structure it by industry, and make sure it's linking to any existing related page. The Economy of Jamaica, Economy of Uruguay, and Economy of Japan all show coherent structures that I aspire to emulate.
I doubt my intentions here are controversial, but I want to share my thought-process in case there's any concerns. Cheers, Estheim (talk) 09:03, 4 December 2020 (UTC)
- COMPLETE My proposed major restructuring is done. The Overview needs a lot of retooling (single-source issues) and it could use additional sections on service industry, manufacturing, and general domestic industry for anyone interested (or maybe just a reminder to myself). Orphaned references in Economy of Guyana
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Economy of Guyana's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 07:26, 12 September 2022 (UTC)
The last table
the last table showing economic prospects is utterly wrong and doesn't make any sense, no information can be retrieved from it, so it should be either deleted or redone. 186.15.116.29 (talk) 07:10, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Some financial figures need to be verified. I’ll try and have it done by next week. Canada18 (talk) 03:05, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
