Chad Vader is a fan film series by Blame Society Productions that has gained popularity on the Internet, particularly through viewings on YouTube. It was originally created for Channel 101, where it was "cancelled" after two episodes, but the creators have continued to make it independently. The first episode has been viewed over three million times on YouTube alone. A portion of the episode IV video was aired on Good Morning America on October 12, 2006. As of February 17, 2007, there are six episodes, each between five and six minutes long, written and directed by Matt Sloan and Aaron Yonda.

Story

The storyline centers around Chad Vader, the less-famous brother of Darth Vader, who works (at first) as a day-shift manager at a supermarket named Empire Market. The story presents Chad's clash with customers and other employees while incorporating dialogue and concepts from Star Wars. Chad shows his antipathy especially for Clint, the night-shift manager who fights for the day shift manager position. Not all of Chad's relationships are hateful, however. Chad's infatuation with Clarissa, one of the grocery store's check-out girls, is a plot point as well.

Template:Spoiler Eventually, after upsetting his boss, Chad is removed from the Day Shift Manager position and is placed in the Night Shift Manager position. Disillusioned with the night shift, Chad demands to have his day shift position back. When his boss refuses to give Chad back the position in Episode IV, Chad quits. After leaving his job, Chad becomes drunk at a bar. Upon speaking with Clarissa, on a date with Clint at the same bar, Chad realizes that he is "lame" and goes to commit suicide by jumping off of a bridge. After several visions of people flash in front of him (including a parody of Obi-Wan Kenobi) who tells him not to jump (a parody of It's a Wonderful Life). Chad decides to get another job. He is seen at the end of the episode, with a combination of his armor and a business suit, holding a portfolio under his arm, going into a job interview. In Episode 6, he is seen trying out for many different jobs, but all of them are "not working out." He decides that his job at the grocery store is the job he was meant to have. Template:Endspoiler
