Khalil Hachimi Idrissi was born on August 14, 1956 in Casablanca, Morocco. He obtained his third cycle diploma from the Institute of Geography of the Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
He began his career in the media collaborating in various media and radio stations in France. After his return to Morocco, he worked as a columnist, journalist and editor-in-chief for many years at the weekly Maroc Hebdo International, before founding in 2000 the French-language daily Aujourd'hui Le Moroccan” .
