Also; the smell. if you have guaged ears you know what i mean. it might be something to bring up. the natural fluids of the body can collect in the area leading to a "smell". it doesnt mean its dirty it just means your body is trying to get rid of a foreign object. mine havent stopped smelling since ive had them (6 years now) and the only way ive found to get the smell "lower". is to clean them in the shower and let dry without the earring in place... also a few minutes of drying in the middle of the day also helps clear up the smell, allowing the fluids to evaporate, and your lobe to relax. i wouldnt advise doing this if you are in the process of "guaging up" because taking out the earring can set you back a guage or 2.
