View of Zizkov from the roof of a flat

Zizkov is a district of Prague, the Czech Republic. It is designated Prague 3.

It was historically a working class district, and was sometimes referred to as “red Zizkov”, due to the high membership in the Communist party. Today, Zizkov is undergoing a mini-urban renewal, with many older diplaidated buildings being reconstructed and restored.

Zizkov is said to have the highest number of pubs per street than any other city in Europe. It is also home to the football team FK Viktoria Zizkov.

The district is named after Hussite leader Jan Zizka.
