In June 2016, Julia moved to Tuko.co.ke, a division of Pan-African Digital Media Company, [https://www.legit.tech/ Legit], to work as an online news editor. In May 2017, she received a promotion to Monitoring Editor. After three years, she was elevated to the position of Managing Editor, and then Managing Director in 2023.


Majale shifted to Tuko.co.ke, a subsidiary company of Pan-African Digital MediaCompany, Legit, as an Online News Editor in June 2016. She was later promoted to Monitoring Editor at the end of May 2017.

Her rise was meteoric as she was promoted to Managing Editor for three years and later Managing Director.

Irine Julia Majale who is known professionally as Julia Majale is a Kenyan journalist, editor and the Managing Director of Tuko.co.ke.[1]In 2021 she made the list of Top 25 Women in Digital at the SOMA Awards.[2]She is board member of the Women Human Rights Defender's Hub powered by Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.[3]

Education

Julia holds a Bachelor’s in Communication and Media Studies from Daystar University. She also graduated with Executive Masters in Media Leadership and Innovation from the Aga Khan University.[4]She is a beneficiary of the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers Women in News Leadership Accelerator Programme in 2021.[1]
