Lyfeguard is a privately held United Kingdom-based company founded in 2021 and launched in February 2023.

The company operates in the financial technology (FinTech) sector, specifically within the software as a service (SaaS) model, offering solutions for both wealth management professionals and individual consumers. Lyfeguard aims to streamline financial and legacy planning through innovative software tools.

History

Lyfeguard Limited was established in 2021 by Gary and Fraser Stewart. The foundation of the company was inspired by the challenges encountered in managing and transferring personal and financial information during probate processes.[1] The company's products are designed to centralise and secure personal data and financial documents, theoretically simplifying the management of estates.

Lyfeguard launched its public services in February 2023, following which it formed partnerships with several service providers, including Farewill for will writing. Dan Garrett, CEO of Farewill, commented on the collaboration, stating, "Together we will make dealing with death simple and affordable for families across the UK.".[2]

Subsequent partnerships included collaborations with Hometree and ManyPets, expanding the range of services offered through its platform.[3]

In October 2023, Lyfeguard partnered with Moneyhub, enhancing its capabilities with open banking solutions.[4] That same month, it secured regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).[5]

In February 2024, Lyfeguard was featured on the Sky TV program "Venture Visionaries."[6]

Services

Lyfeguard offers software solutions for two primary user groups: wealth management professionals and individual consumers.

Lyfeguard's offerings for wealth management professionals are designed to streamline various aspects of financial advisory practices. Key features of the software are said to include:

  • Reporting Functionalities: Richer client information for better decision-making and compliance.
  • Secure Client Collaboration Channels: Secure collaboration between advisers and their clients.[7]

In February 2024, Lyfeguard expanded its services by announcing a partnership with Adviser Services Holdings Limited (ASHL), the parent company of the Sense Network, Lyncombe Consultants, and Rockhold Asset Management.[8] This partnership is aimed at enhancing the range of tools available to financial advisers.

Direct

For individual consumers, Lyfeguard provides a secure platform that facilitates the organisation and management of personal and financial documents.

The platform's features are said to include:

  • Secure Document Storage: Storage important documents such as wills, insurance policies, and tax documents.
