Jon Yoshimura is an American lawyer and government affairs professional focused on land use and renewal energy development. He served as a member of the Hawaiʻi State Senate from July to November 2018.

Education

Yoshimura earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law.[1]

Career

Prior to serving in the State Senate, Yoshimura served as communications director for Senator Daniel Akaka, as a member and chairman of the Honolulu City Council, and as a reporter for KHON-2.[1][2] He was also a candidate for city council in 2012 to complete the remaining two years of Tulsi Gabbard's term upon her election to congress.[3]

He also worked in government affairs for Tesla and SolarCity Hawai’i.[1]
