Straight Shooter was a German rock band from Krefeld, Germany, founded in 1978 by Georg Buschmann, the singer of the Düsseldorf band Streetmark.[1][2] The name of the band was taken from an album by English rock supergroup Bad Company.[3][4]
They released five albums and a few EPs during their active time until 1983. The first works were a mixture of hard rock and to a lesser extent space rock, the last album was musically strongly oriented towards the New German Wave[3]. In 1992, a best-of album was released.

History
Band formation and demos (1976-1978)
The band was formed when Georg Buschmann of the Düsseldorf band Streetmark had to leave the band due to fights within the band and within himself, so he started a new band, named Straight Shooter after the 1975 sophomore album by Bad Company of the same name, as he wanted to have a similar sound to that of the album. He tried a bunch of line up changes and recording demo tapes, but no avail, then he thought of the idea of having a guitar and a keyboard to double it instead of having two guitarists and settled on Günther Striepling being the guitarist. Hans Plankert (Keybordist of Nail) heard about the band from the lighting tech and wanted to join. They then recorded a demo, which with their new sound, got them signed to Sky Records. [4]
