Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU) is a non-profit, self-governed private university located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Formerly known as Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions, it was renamed to its current title in 2021[1][2]. The university operates several colleges offering courses in various fields and is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

History

The university was established in 2005 by Sanjay Bansal as an engineering institute and later evolved into the Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions. Over the years, various institutes were added under its umbrella. As of 2024, the university encompasses six colleges and offers 43 courses across various disciplines to students from all over the country[3][4].

Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology was established in 2005, followed by the Dev Bhoomi Institute of Management Studies in 2006. The Dev Bhoomi Institute of Pharmacy and Research was founded in 2007, and the Dev Bhoomi Institute of Polytechnic was added in 2012. The Dev Bhoomi School of Architecture and Design was established in 2015, and the Dev Bhoomi Medical College of Ayurveda and Hospital began in 2017. In 2010, the Training and Placement Cell, also known as the Corporate Resource Centre (CRC), was established to train and support students for better placement opportunities.

Academics

Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University offers 43 academic programs across various fields, including Engineering, Computer Application, Architecture, Design (B.Des), Management, Commerce, Hotel Management, Mass Communication, BAMS, Fashion Designing, Agriculture, Polytechnic, Horticulture, Microbiology, Nursing, and Pharmacy[5][6].

Partnerships

The university has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with byteXL to enhance students' technical capabilities. National Techno Fest

In 2024, the governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. General Gurmit Singh (Retd), inaugurated the two-day National Techno Fest and Higher Education Conclave, ‘Navdhara’, at the university. The event, themed on "Developed India-2047," showcased the scientific skills of students from all over the country through working models of their concepts. Over 100 teams, including those from Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University, exhibited their projects at the fest[7][8].

Awards

The university has been recognized for its placement efforts and educational excellence.
