ListeriaBot malfunction in several Wikipedias
Since some hours ago, ListeriaBot is doing strange edits in automatic lists across several Wikipedias and several topics. It seems to be missing part of the queries and often misformatting the lists. https://github.com/magnusmanske/listeria_rs/issues/121
I'm not sure if somebody is working on fixing it or if it would be preferable to stop the bot until it works again. Pere prlpz (talk) 23:44, 7 June 2024 (UTC)
- An example: Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/Missing articles by occupation/Mathematicians: In Special:Diff/1227981511 the bot removed about 800 of the 2000 entries on the list, most for no apparent reason. —David Eppstein (talk) 21:09, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
- The same list is back to normal now. —David Eppstein (talk) 04:19, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Suggestion: Wikinator
With so many websites using MediaWiki, how about a version of reasonator that outputs in wikitext so it can be pasted in directly?
For example if there was a "fandom" wiki page for an actor people would be able to fill the information wikidata has for them.
This might also encourage people (as a starting point for creating a wiki page) to first gather the information into wikidata.
The idea could also be extended to other markup languages for example Atlassian (JIRA) Wiki (confluence) uses "markdown" Back ache (talk) 10:00, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Suggestion: Infoboxinator
With so many wikipedia pages that'd benefit from an infobox, and the "spotty" support in infobox templates for wikidata how about a version of reasonator that outputs in as the wikitext for an infobox so it can be pasted in directly? Back ache (talk) 10:05, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
- I wrote something similar years ago, but it was difficult to adjust it to more case types, and I have not had the time to think about crowdsouring that aspect; I'll give it some thought. Thanks for the suggestion! --Magnus Manske (talk) 12:53, 20 June 2024 (UTC)
Wikidata Tools
Hello! I noticed that some editing monitoring tools on Wikidata, User edits and WD edit stats, are malfunctioning. My name is Vicente Detoni, I am part of the brazilian project Mais Teoria da História na Wiki, and this year we are promoting an editing campaing in the Wikimedia universe called Mais Mulheres. We want to improve our mechanisms for evaluating the edits made, and the tools mentioned above could help us a lot with this. Could you investigate what might be happening? Do the tools have any documentation I could consult? Thank you in advance. Vsdetoni (Projeto Mais+) (talk) 13:17, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @Vsdetoni, I think my "herding sheep" tool might help you (this is us this month on Wikidata). You can set a project, a a category with users or a manual user list on that project, and a start/end time (optional). It will show all the edits, plus a summary.
- QuickCounter was broken because some database tables changed, I fixed it now. Gives you basic statistics on a user.
- UserEdits gives you edits on Wikidata for a specific user. You can filter on time range and actions. You can also give a SPARQL query, and only edits in one of the resulting items will be shown. This you editing research institutes.
- You can also get a simple edit count for all users who edited items from a SPARQL query. This shows how often users edited research institutes on 2024-07-01.
- SparqlRC can give you the same but with a lot more details.
- If you need a bespoke tool, let me know what you imagine, I can probably patch something up. --Magnus Manske (talk) 12:42, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
