Chris Brain (born Dec 6, 1992) is an English Singer-songwriter and guitarist from Leeds, Yorkshire.
Brain, and critics, have cited singer-songwriters Nick Drake and Bert Jansch as influences.
Brain began his career in Leed's independent music scene in the early 2020s, releasing his debut album 'Bound to Rise' in April of 2022 and his sophomore album 'Steady Away' in October of 2023.
In November 2023, Brain played at the Royal Festival Hall in memory of Bert Jansch, sharing the stage with Robert Plant of the band Led Zeppelin, Martin Simpson, Sam Lee and more.
Since the release of 'Bound to Rise' and 'Steady Away', Brain has seen wide play across BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6 described by Mark Radcliffe as: 'There are shades of the master Ralph Mctell here and I can think of no greater compliment than that…I Love it!’
Brains music has been reviewed by publications such as The Daily Express, Yorkshire Post, Songlines Magazine, Shindig Magazine and Uncut Magazine.
