RC 16 is the tentative working title of an upcoming Indian Telugu-language film written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is jointly produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. It stars Ram Charan, Shiva Rajkumar and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.

The film was officially announced in November 2022 under the tentative title RC 16, as it is Charan's 16th film as the lead actor. The film will have music composed by A. R. Rahman.

[edit]On 28 November 2022, Vriddhi Cinemas officially announced that they were collaborating with Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers for their maiden production venture, which is written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana of Uppena (2021) fame and starring Ram Charan in the lead role.[1][2] On 6 January 2024, the occasion of A. R. Rahman, his inclusion to the film was announced.[3][4]
Casting
[edit]Janhvi Kapoor was confirmed to play the lead actress role on 6 March 2024, conciding with her birthday. It will mark her second Telugu film after Devara: Part 1, co–starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr..[5] Vijay Sethupathi was reported to play the lead antagonist role, in his second collaboration with the director after Uppena.[6][7] Shiva Rajkumar, during an interview, revealed that he was a part of the cast.[8][9]
Music
[edit]The music and background score is composed by A. R. Rahman, in his maiden collaboration with both Charan and Sana.[10]
