Pelham in Ward End, is a small "sub-area" of inner-city Birmingham, that marks the point where Saltley and Ward End meet. It has a few shops, a pub (The Pelham Arms) and once had its own three- screen movie theatre, Capitol Cinema before it was closed down in 1996.
During 2006 and 2007, Hodge Hill Council launched a housing improvement scheme which involved improving hundreds of properties in the Pelham area. 328 houses received heating, 386 received new windows, 370 received rainwater goods and 393 received new doors[1].
