Diana Williams (b. 1958) is currently a lead new anchor at WABC-TV in New York City, where she co-anchors the 5 p.m. Eyewitness News broadcast with Sade Baderinwa and hosts Eyewitness News Up Close with Diana Williams, a Sunday morning public affairs program. In addition to anchoring the news, she is also the news editor for the 5, 6, and 11 p.m. show, which she is mostly credited with, alongside Bill Beutel.
She joined WABC-TV in 1991 as a reporter and weekend anchor, and quickly made her way to the 11 p.m. Eyewitness News anchor desk with Bill Beutel. Williams also became co-anchor of the 6 p.m. Eyewitness News in 1999 before Beutel retired.
After Beutel's retirement, Williams co-anchored the 6 & 11 p.m. news with Bill Ritter before asking for lighter workload in 2003. She was replaced on July 6, 2003 by Liz Cho, though stills fills in for Cho from time to time. Before WABC-TV, Williams worked at WBTV in Charlotte and then at WNEV-TV (now WHDH-TV) in Boston. She replaced Robb Hanrahan on the 5 PM newscast.
