Charlie "the Gasman" Warren

Charlie "the Gasman" Warren (b. Charles Warren 7 Sept 1983) is a popular and much revered DJ/Promoter, often credited with having reinvigorated the 'indie/electro' movement in his adopted city of Bristol. His main acheivements include the establishment of the internationally-acclaimed club night 'Entertainment!' (inspired by the seminal Gang of Four album name), and his first charity fundraising event, 'Rwandance', to assist in raising money and awareness for his development project in Rwanda.

Proteomic Code

The Proteomic Code is a set of rules by which information in genetic material is transferred into the physicochemical properties of amino acids and determines how individual amino acids interact with each other during folding and in specific protein-protein interactions. The Proteomic Code is part of the redundant Genetic Code. The 25 years old history of this concept is reviewed from the first suggestion in 1981 (1) through the discovery of a Common Periodic Table of Codons and Nucleic acids in 2003 (2) and the recent conceptualization of partial complementary coding of interacting amino acids (3) as well as the theory of the nucleic acid assisted protein folding (4).

One Red Pill (Will "Naïwyn" Stertzel)

One red Pill is a rock/grunge/goth Band created in 2004 by Will "Naïwyn" Stertzel. "This projetc is the result of a long period of song writting and musical studies".

W.Stertzel started the music at 6 years old. He learned the piano and the rudiment of music first. Then, he started the guitar at 9 years old. "A very good friend of mine came at home one day with a secret tape! The guns n' roses Use your illusion 2 album. He took it from his brother. We put the tape into my mother's stereo set and... The revelation!".

All started here. The passion for Rock music. He begun then a long way of studies with different teachers in France. He's been members of different "teenage rock band". But the very first important work was with "Niagara sleepers". "It was an instrumental rock band. At this time, every guitar players wanted to show how speed they could play! It was in the middle of the 90's. I improved my technique a lot with this band."

Then, he traveled through many styles (Funk, Jazz, Metal etc...) To fix him into Rock music again. He created with his best friend the band "Holy Bubble" in 2003. They recorded a 5 tracks demo and played on stage but nothing more. But, in 2004, he wrote some songs. "I didn't know what to do with this, but I wanted to create these songs. I felt it. Nothing more. And when Holy Bubble arrived at his end, I'v listened to these songs again... And I said, well! I have work to do!"

One Red Pill officially borned in 2007 but was ready in 2004. Just a matter of time! Now The band is working well. Recording and gigin'.

Fiu

Fiu-fiu je polinežanska riječ koja uznačava stanje duha koje se u hrvatskom jeziku može opisati sa 'dosta mi je svega, pukao mi je film', ili u nešto elegantnijem i pozitivnijem svijetlu, 'vrijeme je za promjenu'. Riječ je u hrvatski jezik uveo moreplovac i pisac Joža Horvat koji je koncem 1960tih godina oplovio svijet sa svojom jedrilicom Besa i na Polineziji se susreo s tom riječi i njenim značenjem. Čitajući Besu još kao teenager Ivo Orlić iz Punta na otoku Krku je kao i mnogi drugi pasionirani jedriličari usnio san da će jednog dana kad dođe vrijeme da i on oplovi svijet svojom jedrilicom tu jedrilicu krstiti imenom FIU. To se i dogodilo mnogo godina kasnije kad je konačno 2003 kupio Grand Soleil 46.3, krstio ga imenom Fiu u svom rodnom Puntu iz kojeg je onda 5 listopada te iste godine ispraćen od mnogih mjestana i krenuo na put oko svijeta. Nakon vise od dvije godine plovidbe uspješno je preplovio Atlantski, Pacifički i Indijski ocen i koncem 2005 se vratio u Punat gdje su ga mještani pripremili dirljivi i dostojanstveni doček. A freelance journalist currently residing in Eastern Washington State, Rob Wilkinson have written for newspapers throughout Washington State, including The Local Planet Weekly, Washington Free Press and The Finger Newsmagazine, since 2002. BAND BIO

Blue Collar is an eclectic rock/punk band out of Philadelphia. They have been together for over ten years, and continue to create amazing style-crossed music. BCPA, as they are affectionately known, have done it all; Opening up for Sugarcult and Phantom Planet outdoors; Packing the local pubs with their loyal fans; or driving ten hours to Vermont to wow an audience of twelve strangers. The music of Blue Collar is deeply rooted in the punk rock genre, but seems to break the stereotypes of a typical punk band. Within the elements of their music you hear some rock, a touch of hip-hop, funk, ska, and reggae. Whatever style you call it, the music is memorable and worth listening to over and over. The members of the band are as close as brothers. Tragically, one of the brothers was killed in a car accident in November of 2004. Front-man Vinny Green had a smooth, undeniable voice that has fast become the inspiration for the bands' future. Despite the hardships, Blue Collar has never faltered in their mission to create, perform, and amaze.

Mudhouse Records

 Mudhose Records is an independent record label based in Tucson, Arizona.  The label was founded in the summer of 2006 by Jacket Mahoney, a.k.a. Jake Bergeron, a local Tucson musician.  Mahoney decided to start the label in order to "document and promote some of the more unique and concious bands emerging from the dusty grumblings of Tucson, AZ".  After discussing the need for such a local label with other fellow Tucson musicians, Mahoney figured to give it a shot as "it seemed like no one else was gonna do it".  The label operates on a fairly unique basis in that there are no contracts and all agreements are strictly verbal.  So far Mudhouse Records has released two full length albums: The first release, "Let's Shake Some Dust" from The Beta Sweat (Mahoney's now defunct blues-inflected rock/gargae band) was released in November of 2006.  The second release came in the form of The Deludes "Sedation Nation", and was released in April of 2007.  Ironically enough, Mahoney is currently occupying the drumming sopt for the Deludes after the abrupt departure of the group's original drummer in May of 2007.

One of the great philosophers and wordsmiths of the early 21st century, Brooks is known to to turn such memorable phrases as, "If someone asks about me, I want to know why they're asking," and "Why should I care what he thinks? He's not on my paper route." Brooks also is famous for his passion in lobbying McDonald's to bring back the Cheddar Melt as a full-time resident of its menu. Most of you may ask “what is a hitta?” well…… a hitta is a wild and very deceiving specimen. Its designs and wild colors will mesmerize you as you are bamboozled into purchasing it. They play into the imaginations of all dreamers, and this is where it strikes its deadly blow. Hittas are imitations of their real counterpart they have no release date or season. Hittas can be purchased at any gas station, grocery store or the trunk of your guy’s car with their token price tag of $85. If you haven’t figured out by now here is a list of the hitta genus:

Airus Force Oneus- characteristics include: old emblem, over grown sole( sometimes yellow or translucent blue as seen in the all white blood line), thick or shady stitching and small orange and brown habitats that are not fitting for their size. Jordanus #7 aka exclusives- characteristics include: small or short tongues, soft and fragile soles that will rip if you attempt to play any sport in them, wild colors ( you can purchase these for any….i mean any outfit you own).they have also been seen in their transparent( clear) form. Jordanus Spizikeus- the most recently discovered species, also the hardest to recognize but with an eye for detail experts can spot it. It adopted its cousin’s color changing trait.

The Hitta genus is constantly growing, their appearance constantly changing becoming more and more of a nuisance. Many have been fooled maybe even you. So if you think you’re safe maybe you should take another look at your feet.

Kaarthik Jeyakumar

Kaarthik Jeyakumar is a boy who currently resides in London, England and attends The John Lyon School. He is famously known for appearing in many nightclubs drinking mango juice. Kaarthik's estranged brother, Nakkeeran Jeyakumar was only discovered by him in September 2004 when the two had a DNA test which turned out to be positive.

Disaster Us

Disaster Us is a punk rock band started in the Winter of 2005. This band started as a side project/ bar band in New Brunswick, NJ. Sol Caceres, member of Dehumanized, (New Red Archives, San Fran.) had just ended with his band at the time, The Coo Coos. Friend and fan of The Coo Coos, Laura Roberts had just begun to play the bass and the two started jamming at Sol's apartment in New Brunswick. They wrote lyrics and songs throughout that winter and soon enlisted Sol's brother Abe on the drums. The trio began rehearsing in Perth Amboy at Abe's other band's basement and soon graduated to rehearse at local practice studios. After releasing the "Play Loud" demo, the trio began playing local bars and soon developed a very small following of close friends. There after, they recorded professionally for the first time and put out a follow up to their first demo at the end of 2005 which included "Diss Connected" a melodic punk song which seemed to catch the ears of a younger punk crowd. Disaster Us would then play many shows in The New Jersey/ New York areas. In early 2006 Disaster Us were back in the studio again to record more songs with a plan to release a full length. Continuing to play as many shows as possible Disaster Us, through a series of mishaps with certain money grabbing Nj promoters, found themselves at the 2006 Warped Tour, outside the gate, with a car load of demo CDs, candy, and promotional things they had planned on putting on a table at the Warped Tour- a table shared with certain New Jersey promoters that when they arrived, refused to help them get in like they promised them. quick thinking led Disaster Us to get into the Warped Tour, set up their own table, and sell/giveaway their CDs, candy, fliers, and receive many email address for their mailing list. 'In a matter of just under 2 hours the band had completely sold out of 850 CDs and demos!!! The rejection they suffered in the beggining proved to be a blessing in disguise!'

It was at that moment that Attic Tan Records was born.

Disaster Us is cedited most with creating Attic Tan Records- A digital record label. Realizing that there were so many awesome bands in the area, founder Sol Caceres decided that it was time to give back to the community. In early 2007 Sol, Laura, and Abe began work on creating AtticTanRecords.com a website that consists of local bands that submit their music for download. Depending on the amount of downloads, bands can get signed by Attic Tan Records. Disaster Us, is at the top of the charts on the site with songs from their first full length CD self titled, "Disaster Us" which the band released themselves under Attic Tan Records. Plans to put out comps are flying and the band plans on touring in August 2007 in California and then New York. They also have a table this year-legitimately- at the Warped Tour 2007, in Englishtown, NJ!

Aaron Moreland & Dustin Arbuckle are blues musicians from the Kansas Plains. They have garnered worldwide recognition for there raw, authentic, boundary pushing blues. Their strong grip on tradition and mastery of several styles of blues (hill country, chicago, delta, etc.) separates them from their peers. The “Ultimate Blues Band From the Heartland” was once used by a festival promoter to describe Moreland & Arbuckle’s music. Hailing from the sparsely populated plains of Kansas, Moreland & Arbuckle have seen more success in the past 2 years than most musicians dream about. The pair began performing together in early 2001 and quickly became an authentic, but innovate act. Since being a Finalist at the 2005 International Blues Competition (IBC), hosted by the Blues Foundation, they have seen their fan base grow exponentially. What is more, later that year the band’s debut release, Caney Valley Blues hit #20 on the Living Blues radio charts.

These achievements have demanded the band to take their brand of blues all over the United States and parts of Europe. “Doing well at the IBC was a springboard for us to push to the next level,” Moreland says, “Up to that point, we had been largely confined as a Midwest regional act.” During the past two years they have performed at several major blues festivals and clubs throughout the world including the Bay Front Blues Festival, Blues Alive! (Holland), Arkansas Blues and Heritage Blues Festival, Bierbeek Blues Festival (Belgium), and Portland’s Waterfront Blues Festival among others. The band has performed over 700 gigs in the past five years, with no signs of slowing down.

Moreland & Arbuckle have strong appeal on many different levels. They are one of the few acts on the scene today to have mastered both acoustic and electric blues. Mr Brodie was, at the time, employed by the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board and resided at 5,Kelvin Grove in the Toxteth Park area of Liverpool. He was a keen exponent of the Rugby code and played for the now defunct Walton Club. He also took an interest in soccer and, when possible, could be seen watching Everton play on their home ground at Anfield. His attention, following a disputed goal, was drawn to difficulties experienced by the match officals when having to decide if the ball had infact hit the legitmate target. Mr Brodie thought of solution to this problem. He would design a device that would, effectively, turn the apperture of the goal frame in to pocket thus proving the ball had hit the intended target and not passed wide of the objective. He then designed the world first firat goal net and, on 27th November 1889, he submitted his invention for patent. He then approached the local team of former public schoool men, with whom he was aquainted, who played under name Liverpool Ramblers. They agreed to help. Mr Brodies invention, still in the experimentel stage. was first used on the Ramblers home pitch at Crosby Cricket Ground. The goal nets, after several adjustments,were then placed on general sale.

The FA first sanctioned the use of goals in a representive match, played between the North and South, on the Trent Bridge Cricket Ground in Nottingham where they proved to be success. They were then used in in the 1892 FA Cup final played between Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. Mr Brodies invention is, to-day, used throughtout the world.

Jeremy "Goober" DeMattio

Born February 24,1982 to the parents of Robert DeMattio and Diane Aydt. Had a very modest chidhoold, mostly playing with his ninja turtles, power rangers, and the occasional barbie. As he got older he spread his wings and decieded to get a job at a local drugstore. Starting of as a stockman he took no time in becoming the greatest. Still needing a challenge he moved on to bigger and better things, The sacred video counter. Like before he quickly found himself at the top and bored, so he quit still looking for a greater challenge. He then moved on to a local pizzia shop as a deliverer. Although he hates driving it provided the challenge that he has been so desperate to find.

  To this day you can still find him  slinging pizzias  to paying customers at an alarming rate.

Orthodox V Parishes

      Orthodox V Parishes is Charitable Association of 13 Parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church and under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness Alexy II Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.  
      The history of the Orthodox V Charitable Association is relatively short. The origin of the organization began through informal discussions between Serge Lopushinsky and Bill Holyk. Their aim was to try to unite the five Parishes that Rev. Stephan Abramchuk was serving at the time, and to try to organize a fund raiser to help pay for the living accomodations. 
      On October 31, 1985 at a meeting of the five parishes, held at the Holy Trinity Church at Wostok, the name Orthodox V was chosen. Serge Lopushinsky was elected as President and Vicky Holyk as Secretary.
      On November 15, 1985, the first Pre-Lenten Social (or Puschenia) was held at the St. Michael Recreation Center. The function was an outstanding success.
      Shortly after the Puschenia, a meeting was held at the St. John the Baptist Parish at Chipman to review the successful function, and the third position was filled by electing Kim Lopushinsky as Treasurer.
      When Wostok parish left the Patriarchal Parishes in Canada and joined Orthodox Church in America, the role of Secretary was also changed. [Vicky Holyk was a member of Wostok Parish.] Andy Shupenia was elected to this position.
      As the priests were changed, so did the number of Orthodox V Parishes change. Rev.  Michael Fourik became the presiding minister for Orthodox V and the number of Parishes grew to 9.
      In 1989, a decision was made to move the priest from Edmonton to Lamont to be closer to the majority of the parishes and parishioners.
      In 1991, a major undertaking by the organization was to put together an Orthodox Service Book. Under the direction of Rev. Michael Fourik and the blessing of then Archbishop Makary, a book committee was formed. After approximately sixteen months, the first publication of one thousand books was done. Shortly thereafter, a second printing took place. Until this day this book is in use by most parishes in the area. 
      The next biggest undertaking of the organization was to purchase a residence for the priest. Through many generous donations from parishioners, fund raising, etc., a house was purchased in 1992.
      As the years passed, the number of Parishes grew to thirteen. Some of the Parishes are very small and may only have one service per year. Most Parishes are located in the County of Lamont with the farthest being at North Star (near Manning), Spirit River and Woking in northern Alberta. 
      The current priest, V. Rev. John Shandra came to Canada, with his wife, Matushka Maria, in January 2000, after being appointed to serve the Orthodox V Parishes by His Holiness Patriarch Alexis II and the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church.

RHETORIC ASPECT

The concept of «Rhetorical aspect » is a thesis that I suggested (CHOUKRI,1999) in order to widen the Grammatical aspect (Comrie B., 1976 - Cohen , D.1989) into a generic sense. So, analysing the perfective aspect or the iterative (or habitual) aspect, we may notice that some features like « iteration » and « continuity » have their mirror manifestations in rhetorical figures such as metaphor and alliteration. The basic principle of this thesis is that time is a cognitive component in the linguistic and visual discourses: Poetry, Novel, publicity, and educational discourse...

Moreover, time is a procceeding concept which serves to explain and interpret many discourses. We can therefore ask this question : What is a rhetorical aspectual model ? First of all, we have to criticize the main concept in the structural poetic: The theory of contravention or Discard (Ecart : Cohen J. 1970) .

The rhetorical figures from the cognitive semantic point of view are not a special characteristic (distinctive features) of poetry , but they are frames of the poetic of mind (Gibbs, JR.R.W, 1994) and they are connected to human experience by categories . So, I established rhetorical aspect model in an addressing mode which is divided into three kinds making up the interaction between linguistic , cognitive and rhetorical structures .

A)Indirect Addressing
 

This kind of addressing mode represents the cognitive background for rhetorical intensity. Hence, this mode includes the accumulated cultural categories as human interaction with the world . For example, Redundancy, as a figure, has its roots in human architectural tradition which tallies with the redundancy of nature ; Alternation of seasons and days. (Group  , 1977- PP 125-128) .

Thus, the cyclic aspect including rhythmical tense refers to eternal repetitions in old greec and oriental civilizations. Furthermore, metaphors led man to associate his own life (birth, youth and old age) eigher with sun rotation (Dawn, afternoon , evening ..) or with seasons rotation . According to this perspective , cognitive semantics explain human knowledge by categorization and schematization (Rosch, E. , 1977 and 1978).

B) Relative addressing

Relative addressing forms the linguistic basis of rhetorical intensity. We can, in a wider sense, envisage rhetorical aspect as an interpretative projection of grammatical aspect by the basic mathematical reference : the appropriate case in this context is the figure called ‘‘Hyperbate ’’.

3.Hence, mathematical order is the nucleous of both linguistic and rhetorical order. The latter is, also, an extension of linguistic order within the rhetorical intensity .

C Direct addressing

This  addressing  mode  is the rhetorical  basis  of  rhetorical  intensity in which we notice the symmetry between discourse figures and  some  rhetorical concepts such as rhythm theory.  So,  the  rhetorical  basis of  some  categories as repetition and Isotopy (Miftah 1985) corresponds directly  to  rhythmical figures  such as Rhyme , Assonance and  Alliteration .

Hence, this intensity is not a distinctive feature of poetry , but it is a cognitive process that we live by, and it marks all kinds of discourse according to the text producer intentionality . The famous expression : The officer’s dog is barking (Greimas 1966 pp.50-54) will have its covert systems (hidden meanings) only if there is the rhetorical intentionality of the text producer in the context of enonciation. Furthermore, the rhetorical intensity is a result of multiple interactions between three kinds of addressing mode which have been mentioned previously. Thus, the rhetorical intensity produces the rhetorical aspect in which we can interpret the rhetorical tenses such as cyclic , elastic and chaotic tenses .

Harry Flynt (Harry L Gray II)

Harry Flynt was born Harry L Gray II on July 9, 1985 to Shelia Pegues and Harry Gray I. Flynt’s parents divorced when he was still in the womb forcing his mother to move from their military base home in Guam back to Memphis, Tennessee where she was born and raised.

Only four months after Flynt was born, his mother allowed visitation with his father. Unfortunately it took court battles from Guam to Maine to Tennessee almost two years later before Shelia would ever see Harry Flynt again. His father took him for the visit and never brought Flynt back. And due to Flynt’s young age at the time, he barely remembers his life from the age of four months to two years old.

Harry Flynt, with a judgment from multiple judges including Judge Joe Brown, was returned to his mother and family that he barely knew.

One thing Harry Flynt did know was that he shared with the rest of his newfound family the love of music. He grew up surrounded by hundreds of records and an uncle that could sing his heart out. His oldest sister would force him into talent shows as her backup dancer. Once he reached high school, he started to emerge front and center while staying true to his admiration of Jay-Z who he hopes to meet someday.

In Jay-Z, he found that music was more than just selling records. He realized that it’s a business and something that must be tackled with heart and soul. After graduating from Mt. Healthy High School, he continued to stay focused on recording. He worked for a finance company, Cincinnati Financial and Insurance Companies. He attended modeling school and he worked a second job at Ecco Shoes to help pay for his increased time in the studio.

Harry Flynt has aligned himself with other local Cincinnati artists. He’s also been able to extend both his writing and sound mixing skills to artists outside of the tri-state area. With encouragement from his family to expand his scope of music, Harry bought a guitar and grew a strong interest in the fusion of rock n’ roll into his sound. He also decided to further his education of the piano through the help of a friend at NKU. Harry Flynt constantly follows the trends of music and he knows right now is about breaking down the barriers of genre.

Right now Harry’s first single is called “Feel Good”.

It is now commonly understood that breast cancer is not one form of cancer, but many different "subtypes" of cancer. These subtypes of breast cancer are generally diagnosed based upon the presence, or lack of, three "receptors" known to fuel most breast cancers: estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). The most successful treatments for breast cancer target these receptors.

Unfortunately, none of these receptors are found in women with triple negative breast cancer. In other words, a triple negative breast cancer diagnosis means that the offending tumor is estrogen receptor-negative, progesterone receptor-negative and HER2-negative, thus giving rise to the name "triple negative breast cancer." On a positive note, this type of breast cancer is typically responsive to chemotherapy. Because of its triple negative status, however, triple negative tumors generally do not respond to receptor targeted treatments. Depending on the stage of its diagnosis, triple negative breast cancer can be particularly aggressive, and more likely to recur than other subtypes of breast cancer.

Triple negative breast cancer accounts for approximately 15% of all breast cancer cases. It occurs most often in African American and younger women. Because it is a recently recognized form of breast cancer, there is very little known about its pathology. FND History

In fall of 1998, the game was Nascar 4. There were only a few servers out there running the arcade version online. The major 2 online racing rooms in FND history were Dodgefast2 and Gollum38. There were only a handful of drivers in each server and a few drivers would bounce back and forth. Then came the idea of joining the two together. It worked out great. The main goal of the new group was having fun and sticking together to clean house against the competition racing in open rooms.

Soon we started having long races, just for the group, at Daytona_night every Friday night. We had people from the servers “Preachers lane” and “Slowsplace” joining us. Soon after came the name, “Friday Night Daytona.” At that time the group was getting larger and having growing pains and we lost a few friends and great racers.

After going through the other game versions we got to NR2003 and switched to the sim version of the game. That lost a few more friends. With the new game, a new name came for the server. The name for the long Friday night race was the “FND 104.” The group again grew larger and started going through the growing pains again. After the loss of a few more friends, the team name became “FND Racing.”

So, here we are today and the core is still here. As we begin racing with other teams and growing again, hopefully the friendships will survive the growing pains. Friday night has been taken over by the FND104 Series. Bomb Squad Racing (BSR) and Clean Race Team (CRT) competes on a regular basis. Visit our website at FNDRacing.
