Tentacled flathead
The tentacled flathead (Papilloculiceps longiceps) is a species of marine fish belonging to the flathead family, Platycephalidae. It is found in the western Indian Ocean, including the Red Sea, and also in the Mediterranean Sea, probably as a result of migration through the Suez Canal. The tentacled flathead is a well camouflaged, ambush predator of fish and crustaceans, living near coral reefs on sand or rubble substrates at depths of up to 15 metres (49 feet). The species has an elongate body, with a maximum published length of 70 centimetres (28 inches), although 50 centimetres (20 inches) is more typical. It has a depressed head with five prominent nuchal spines, ridges on its operculum and preoperculum, a spine on the rear of the suborbital ridge, and smaller spines elsewhere. The body is mottled brownish or greenish dorsally, and whitish ventrally. There are three or four dark bands on the caudal fin, and the other fins are marked with large, dark blotches. This tentacled flathead was photographed in the Red Sea in Ras Muhammad National Park, off the southern coast of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.Photograph credit: Diego Delso

Hello, I am Strangerer.

My main interests on Wikipedia are in copyright tags for images and in general cleanup. I do enjoy contributing some content, but I am more of a janitor than a researcher.

I enjoy looking for vandalism, and I think it's fun to see what people decide to write on pages.

I also have an account on the Commons. Please leave me messages here instead of there; I am here more often and may not be checking the Commons.

I am always willing to help people tag their images properly. If I marked an image of yours for deletion, read below. If you need help tagging one of your images, drop me a note!

About your images

If I have tagged your image for deletion under CSD I2, and the given reason is This is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.(CSD I2)., look at one of the possible reasons below:

  • There is no image there, but you have created the page for it. This is sometimes a typographical error, but it is often a response to old bot messages about images with no copyright tag.
  • The image seems to be fine, but it also has a note on the page that says "This is a file from the Wikimedia Commons. The description on its description page there is shown below", this means you have mistakenly created the page on Wikipedia. When images are hosted on the Commons, the wiki software lets the image show through to all projects unless there is another file hosted at that name. Description pages for Commons-hosted images can exist on Wikipedia, but they are usually just for information specific to the English Wikipedia (for example, if it was a featured picture). Other information is better off on the Commons page so that other projects have the information as well.

If I have tagged your image with this template:

This image does not have a copyright tag. Copyright tagging is required in order to provide a consistent way to identify the copyright status of images, and to allow for automated classification of images. This template should be replaced with the appropriate copyright tag. Failure to tag an image may lead to its deletion. If you have any questions please see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Please notify the uploader with
{{subst:Image copyright|Image:Strangerer}}~~~~

this means you are required to add a copyright tag to the image to prevent its deletion.

If you've taken the image yourself and will release it under a free license, consider uploading it to the Commons. You could release it under the GFDL, under a Creative Commons license, or into the public domain. You have many choices on how to license your work. All images must have a copyright tag, and your image will be considered copyrighted until you release it explicitly.

If you have not created the image yourself and need help selecting a copyright tag, see these pages:

In addition to work with image copyright tags, I also have enjoyed contributing to these articles:
