Best ~first things~ is the first Best Of album released by Japanese Pop singer Kumi Koda; it included her singles from her very debut in 2000 to 2005. The album was released in formats 2-CD and 2-CD with a DVD (which included all of the videos that were made for promote the singles). The album was a huge success, and was the best-selling album of a female in 2005 according to the Oricon charts[citation needed] and placed sixth overall.[citation needed] This album was believed to be the reason why Kumi's career has skyrocketed recently.
Charts
Best ~first things~ debuted at #2 on the Japanese Oricon weekly charts with 558,916 units.[citation needed] The first week sales of this album outsold her highest selling studio album, "secret" and also set a personal record for Kumi. On its second week of release, Best ~first things~ managed to take the #1 position on the weekly charts and this album became her first #1 album in her career. The album passed the 1 million mark within 5 weeks of release[citation needed] and it also became her first million selling album. By the end of 2005, Best ~first things~ became the year's best selling female album in Japan.[citation needed]
