The article was sounding like an ad for a long time. Only today I revised a major part of it and rewrote it. But I still think that the article must contain a section on placements. If you dont like the way the section is written please rewrite it. But I think the section should not be removed.

Placement

while placements is not a very important aspect with respect to other colleges in India, it is a very important part of colleges in Bangalore. News reports on campus recruitment have appeared in NDTV news, Aaj Tak etc where Bangalore colleges where covered specifically. So it is an important topic which needs to be covered even in a wikipedia article and without it an article on any Bangalore college and specifically RVCE would be incomplete. RVCE is best known for its placements and the reason many ppl from Karnataka and other states come to colleges in Bangalore is more for placements than anything else. ALso in the discussion leading to selection of colleges after CET placements is the most important criterion for most people. This is very different from the college selection atmosphere in north India where placement is not an important enough factor and far fewer number of companies recruit directly from campus.

It is an adverts. Advertisement is strictly not allowed in wikipedia. Placements is there is every college and as far i know it is no where important here in wikipedia. --SkyWalker 10:07, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thats a very general statement that placements are there in every college in India. Only someone in Bangalore would know how much placement figures in the conversation of students. Also if placements was as pronounced in colleges of the North ppl wouldn't have to come to Bangalore in large numbers to hunt jobs.Over 75% of students at RVCE and more than 80% of students from the IT branches have one or more jobs by the time they graduate. I have tried my best to explain my point in detail. If you want to indulge in an edit war then so be it.

Iam from bangalore. I know it very well. :). It is not me who is staring a edit war. It is people who readd placements which is violating wikipedia. It is an encyclopedia not an ads site. --SkyWalker 10:18, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV Required

This article is almost a shame to WP in the way it lets an almost infantile description of things(probably, by an alumnus suffering a large dose of nostalgia).npov npov npov. The author has conclusively proven through his own example that this place provides not an education but just gives you a degree(i don't think npov counts on the talk page)

Actions which can be taken to achieve NPOV

  • Lots of changes made. please see the updated webpage. cheers!

can somebody upload a better higher resoultion logo? since i left the college long back i have no access :)

It's too biased

The whole page looks like a big ad for R.V.C.E. I'd do something about it,but I think I'd be too biased in the other direction. Needs a big big rewrite.

I' not sure either way. One the one hand RV is a great place. On the other hand, the article does seem like an ad. We need some kinda reference for these matters.

Yes it does sound like an ad, it should be improved --vineeth 14:20, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

what self-promotion!

This is appalling, straight out self promotion, lot of censorship from what seems to be college authorities trying to paint a rosy picture.

Unreferenced

The article does need a rewrite. Please discuss and agree here before you remove any tags on the main page. Also, please avoid words like 'leading', 'best', 'most'. Unless supported with credible sources, such words create an extreme Point of View--something against Wikipedia's fundamental principle. See Neutral point of view Someone currently studying in RVCE or an alumnus could probably work on improving this article. s1 00:02, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
