David J. Morrow

David J. Morrow (Dec 18 1960) is an American journalist and the current editor-in-chief of TheStreet.com. Morrow was born in Campobello, South Carolina, and attended Chapman High School in Inman. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of South Carolina in 1983.

Morrow began his career in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but quickly moved on to national journalism. He joined Time Magazine as a stringer in its Atlanta bureau in 1985 and later moved to Fortune magazine as a reporter in 1988. He later worked for the Detroit Free Press as a foreign correspondent in Japan, a feature writer and articles editor for SmartMoney magazine and a reporter for four years with The New York Times.

Morrow became editor-in-chief of TheStreet.com in July 2001, two months before the terrorist attacks on The World Trade Center. Under his tenure, TheStreet.com has won numerous journalism awards, including the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award and three Society of Business Editors and Writers Awards. In 2001, Out Magazine named Morrow one of the year's 100 most successful gay people in the United States. He currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
