Jim Pattterson ran for the 21st congressional district Republican primary in 2002 against future congressman Devin Nunes and Assemblyman Mike Briggs. Although he received the endorsement of the [[Club for Growth]] and won the Fresno County portion of the 21st,he ended up losing the overall tally, and coming in 2nd place to [[Devin Nunes]]

Jim Patterson was mayor of Fresno, California between 1993 and 2001. He succeeded Karen Humphrey with a 'tough on crime' campaign. Alan Autry succeeded Mayor Patterson.

Jim Pattterson ran for the 21st congressional district Republican primary in 2002 against future congressman Devin Nunes and Assemblyman Mike Briggs.
