Some cleanup is needed in the MX-6's second-generation article. Diction and grammar need to be adjusted to give the article some substance. The New Zealand reference is very poorly written. |

The Japanese Mx-6 never had the FSZE, it received the same FS series engine as the North American counterpart. Blackpgt1994 Actually, the Japanese MX-6 never had the FS at all. It was powered by the KF-ZE 2.0 DOHC 24V V6. --Carcenomy 09:54, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
Engine options
JDM market 1gens were all equipped with EFI engines, either F8 12v, F8-DOHC or FE-DOHC, most seem to be FE-DOHC. JDM 2gens all seem to be either KFZE or KLZE powered, I haven't seen a 2.0 4-cylinder 2gen JDM yet.
Euro market 1gens came with options like the FE 12v carburetted engine, to match the 626 moniker they went by at the time.
And of course, not all units were built by AutoAlliance, contrary to the original article. Most I imagine were assembled at Mazda Motor Corporation's plant at Hiroshima. --Carcenomy 02:11, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
2nd Gen models in ther US were built at Flatrock Michigan and had the 2lt FS Mazda engine coupled to a Ford gearbox (which had a tendancy to fail) The 2.5 V6 version used the KLDE series engine with 164bhp
2nd Gen models in Europe, Australia and South Africa also had the KLDE series engine, but where built in Japan and as such have a much higher build quality. The engines also had 164bhp, but had more power due to the better quality of fuels available. The higher octanes providing more power.
2nd Gen models for the Japanese market came in 2 flavours. The KFZE 2lt V6 with 159bhp and the KFZE 2.5lt V6 with 198bhp.
References
Anyone got brochures, sales data, magazine articles etc that can be referenced in this item? One reference to Car and Driver doesn't really cut it... :) --Carcenomy 02:13, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
