==Russian martial arts==
Could you please help with the Russian martial arts thing?

I will tell you the problems:

1. [[Russian martial arts]] article needs referencing, and i couldn't find thise.

2. There are articles about martial arts in Russian that need to be translated to English. After translated to English, they also need to be referenced and expanded (the demends on the English Wikipedia are higher). Those articles are: [http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D1%83%D0%BB%D0%B0%D1%87%D0%BD%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%B9], [http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B2%D1%8F%D0%BD%D0%BE-%D0%B3%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B8%D1%86%D0%BA%D0%B0%D1%8F_%D0%B1%D0%BE%D1%80%D1%8C%D0%B1%D0%B0], [http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A0%D1%83%D1%81%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B9_%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C_%28%D0%B1%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%B5_%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BA%D1%83%D1%81%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B2%D0%BE%29].

If you can't do that, then please leave that messege to someone who can help here. Thank you. [[User:PocketMoon|PocketMoon]] 17:25, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

This board is for the announcements other than new article announcements that go to Portal:Russia/New article announcements and the announcements about the WP:DYK articles that should go to Portal:Russia/Did You Know Articles.

The Portal's own talk page should be used to discuss the portal itself. This page would be for announcements to call attention to any RU-related WP matters.

Interested editors, please add all three boards to your watch list.

Medical schools in 19th century Saint Petersburg

While writing a new article (Józef Mianowski), I found two schools in Polish sources I am having trouble translating for Wikipedia: Medical-Chirurgical Academy in Saint Petersburg and II Hospital of Land Forces. Any better translations, Russian names and pipes to relevant articles would be appreciated.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  22:54, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Images up for deletion

A couple of historical photos used in quite important articles are up for deletion due to violations of fair use rationales. The cited problem is that the photos themselves are not iconic enough. I have commented on one but have not looked at others. These are: Image:Gorbachev-coup.jpg, Image:Gorbachev_Meeting.jpg, Image:Gorbachev_with_Yeltsin.jpg, Image:1991_coup_yeltsin.jpg, Image:Oct93 1.jpg and Image:Gaidar_and_Yeltsin.JPG. --Konstable 01:11, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to comment and help improve the article.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  15:27, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article was nominated for FA, I think readers of this board will be interested in commenting and hopefully improving this article.-- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk  15:59, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Active measures" article

I suspect that I will not be able to handle the "Active measures" article alone. This is a chaotic list of Cheka---KGB-FSB operations. IMO the first thing is to rename the article into something meaningful for English reader. Every intelligence service has covert operations against the adversaries of their state and politics. No big deal. As a first step, at least various unproved allegations and other speculation must be removed: it is enough proved cases to serve as examples. ru-sib pearl

Please take a careful look at preomerzitelneysiy perl of ru-sib:Россея. Is anyone going to finally do something with this heap of sick ooze? `'Míkka 19:08, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Since meta over a year does nothing to close this incubator of ethnic hatred, I suggest to initiate the english wikipedia ban on wikilinks to ru-sib. This is an unprecedented case of wikimedia-sponsored exercise in outrageous bigotry carried out by a small group of devoted Russophobes. `'Míkka 19:18, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User Israeli pics

It looks to me user Israeli was uploading pics that all of them wasn't made by him. And he was targeting them as self-made with PD release. Two my pictures were deleted some time ago because of my request. Now I see also several pictures of other authors, that are not him definitely. I have feeling none of pictures he has uploaded are made by him. Elk Salmon 13:40, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help please

Hello. I need someone who speaks Russian who is willing to take a look at this thread. It seems that there is a naming issue with an article which may be causing some bots to make some edits which keep getting reverted. I would appreciate it is anyone could provide any assistance. --After Midnight 0001 14:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Russian wikiProjects

Ive seen recently articles (talk pages) are tagged with both {{WikiProject Russia}} and {{WikiProject Russian History}}. IMO it is an overkill and unnecessary clutter.

Please take a look at wikiProj Maths template, e.g., inTalk:Graph property. It has a parameter called "field". In our case the project is "Russia", with subproject/subfield "Russian history".

Any comments? `'Míkka 20:10, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two articles that need a third (!) opinion.

WP:OR. WP:SYN. WP:FRINGE. WP:UNDUE. I kid you not.

  • Operation Sarindar coatrack for all sorts of allegations by Ion Mihai Pacepa - also a last stand of the "Iraq had WMD!" warriors. Should be merged with the article on the author of these allegations.
  • Communist terrorism Another coatrack which both refers to actions by terrorist gangs claiming to be communist (somehow the IRA is missing in that funny list of usual suspects), and state terrorism as practised by communist states. Should be renamed to reflect this, or split up.

As of now, only two Western authors are trying to defend some sort of rationality at those two pages.--Pan Gerwazy 10:35, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
