The animated television show Kappa Mikey has had many a share of characters. This is a list of them.

Main and Major characters

All of the main characters live in LilyMu Towers and work on the show LilyMu.

Mikey Simon

Voiced by: Michael Sinterniklaas

Mikey has a rough time adjusting to this new lifestyle. Curious yet naive, egotistical, and a bad listener, Mikey often gets himself and his co-stars into strange disasters, which often leads to Ozu firing and rehiring them. His precociousness and failure to adapt reflects many children's experiences of trying to adjust to living in a new country, or any kind of life change, and is where the major theme of the entire show stems from. He has no clear recreational hobbies except for video games, which is only referenced in two episodes. In fact, off-work, he is very lazy- his apartment is often a mess. According to the episode Camp!, Mikey is afraid to perform live on-stage, due to a traumatic childhood experience that resulted in a big wedgie.

He has a crush on his co-star, Lily, even though she intends to make his life miserable. He is clueless to Mitsuki's own affections for him. As the episodes go on, he begins notice the real bitterness in Lily's personality, consequently losting the interest in her. At the same time, he begins to own affection for Mitsuki.

Off set, he wears a tan-white long sleeve undershirt with a blue t-shirt over that and tan Pants.

Mitsuki

Voiced by: Evelyn Lanto

Mitsuki is completely in love with Mikey, and tries to make him feel welcome on the show and in Japan. There are times when Mitsuki compliments Mikey romantically (as in the episode "The Order of the Oni" when Mikey is found guilty of breaking the club's rules of secrecy; Mitsuki's response to the question asked by the club leader- "How shall you (Mikey) be punished?" is "Kiss him furiously?") However, Mikey doesn't notice these moments, doesn't understand what she is saying or isn't there to hear it. Interestingly, it seems that Mitsuki's affection for Mikey is derived specifically from his quirky and annoying tendencies, rather than in spite of them. This is shown in the episode "Ship of Fools" when a suave and charming Mikey look-alike impersonates the real Mikey and attempts to romance both Lily and Mitsuki. While Lily is extremely taken with this new charming Mikey, Mitsuki is clearly turned off by him, and is visibly relieved when the real Mikey turns up again. The only other person that knows about Mitsuki's affections is Lily, after she read Mitsuki's diary. Mikey read it too and noticed it, but he thought Mitsuki was writing about a guy named "Mickey". Lily hasn't mentioned anything about it ever since. Though, there have been moments that hinted at Mikey's own affections for her, such as in The Phantom of the Soundstage, when off set, he pulls pranks on the others, but on set, he concentrates all his pranks on Mitsuki. He also shows some affection in A Christmas Mikey, when they share a kiss under the mistletoe, in which Mikey was also blushing with a smile. Before working on the LilyMu show, Mitsuki was a secret agent, as shown in LaFemme Mitsuki.

Off set, she wears a V-necked red shirt with a white undershirt and tight blue pants.

Lily

Voiced by: Annice Moriarty

Her self-centered attitude makes her an enemy of the rest of the cast at some points. She totally loathes and reviles Mikey, despite the fact that he has somewhat of a crush on her earlier in the series. (This goes unnoticed by Lily due to her intense hatred of Mikey and her incredible vanity.) Her biggest ambition is to get Mikey fired from the LilyMu show, thinking it will make her the famous star again. This desire apparently causes her to overlook the fact that it was Mikey who saved the show from its low-ratings slump in the first place, and that if Mikey gets fired, Ozu will most likely cancel the show. Despite Lily's temper and generally irritating personality, Mitsuki is surprisingly understanding toward her and can tolerate her behavior (to a certain extent), which could be because they are roommates.

Off set, she wears a white shirt and a blue mini-skirt. Her outfit is similar to the schoolgirl sailor fuku common in Japanese schools.

Gonard

Voiced by: Sean Schemmel

On the show, Gonard is an evil, purple creature, a criminal bent on destroying Team LilyMu and taking over Tokyo. Off camera, Gonard is a big, normally colored oafish moron. He is innocent, a bit insecure, clumsy, and often has an illogical way of thinking. Gonard takes a quick liking to Mikey as a friend and helps him adapt to his new life in Tokyo. His behavior is controlled by a food obsession, especially for sandwiches. Gonard has several suspicious items stuck to the seat of his pants, which he often loses, and has items hidden beneath his huge puffy hair. He can hold large amounts in his mouth at a time, such as lemons, water, several live cows, or Guano. Though Gonard is made out to be an idiot most of the time (for instance, "Mikey's not from Cleveland, Mikey's from America!"), he does have brief moments of intelligence often. He also lives with his mom (who is never seen).

The character is largely a spoof on Goku, as seen by the large and constant food intake and the fact that he is good-natured, if a bit stupid, plus the more obvious issue of his name. This is emphasized by the fact that both him and the actual Goku character are voiced by Sean Schemmel.

Off set, he wears a blue hoodie and green shorts.

Guano

Voiced by: Gary Mack

Guano is a star, the writer, and the neurotic director of LilyMu. He is another friend of Mikey's and helps him get around Tokyo. On the show, he is the stereotypical cute sidekick; a small, purple, Pikachu-like creature. In fact, he slightly resembles the Pokémon Sableye. He can fly, shoot lasers out of the gem on his stomach, and all he says on camera is his own name (a clear reference to Pokémon anime meta series). When you rub a needle on the gem on his chest it plays Beethoven's Fifth. He has phobias for just about all non-scary things, and is very secretive of his personal life. He is also extremely emotional, frequently crying or cheering and jumping around. His name comes from the Spanish word for "manure" (which is also the common term for bat droppings). In every episode he seems to stop the LilyMu show by yelling "CUT!" when something goes wrong, such as Mikey messing up or heavy objects falling on Gonard, or both (occasionally, it is Ozu who yells cut at the beginning of an episode). He also lives in LilyMu Towers, but his room is rarely shown. He also refuses to tell the other characters which floor his room is on.

Ozu

Voiced by: Stephen Moverley

The ill-tempered producer of LilyMu, Ozu rules the show with an iron fist. More often than not, he yells at and scolds the cast, except Mikey, who he sees as the savior of the show and who can usually do no wrong in his eyes. He has also shown to be a gentle, caring and supportive mentor as well. Ozu is constantly canceling the LilyMu show when Mikey or the cast does something wrong, but is quick to hire them back once his rage has been pacified or their popularity reestablished. (In LilyMeow he mentioned that they are rehired but only until he remembered the original reason for firing them.)

He seems to have had the same face, hair and head size since his birth. He grew up in a traditional Japanese lifestyle, and his family would take him to the countryside to practice karate every Sunday (surprisingly his mother looks identical to Yesman).Since he was a child, he has had a precious bansai tree (which Mikey destroys in Mikey Impossible). He left his hometown to the city to seek his fortune, which, apparently, fell right down to him from the sky. At some point in his life, he married a woman named Kyoko in Kutaguro, and had a son. Ozu used to hate Christmas because his family disappeared on Christmas day. However, the Ghost of Japanese Christmas Future informed him that it would be on Christmas Day that his son would come back to him, and as a result, he grew intense love for the holiday. In Like Ozu, Like Son, he mentions he doesn't have any grandchildren because of "a mistake I made a long time ago". It is revealed that he has a brother named "Brozu" who was born one second earlier than him, and who, later in his life, spent the family fortune on diamonds and expensive gifts to himself. Ozu hates cards of all kinds, including scratch-offs (ironically, this is stated on his business card). It's possible that he was named after legendary director Yasujiro Ozu.

Yes Man

Voiced by: Jesse Adams

Ozu's chimp-faced assistant and sidekick. He doesn't seem to do anything for LilyMu, except agree with Ozu (hence his name), and possibly be the voice that shouts the show's name at the beginning of each LilyMu episode. He often speaks in short, loud, random phrases. According to The Fugi-Kid, he once went under the name of Demin Boy and was apparently the "most popular kid in all of Japan" (perhaps only in his mind). He was also known as "Yes Boy" when he was younger, and would say "Yes" to every question. He is the most exaggerated character in the sense of a cartoon, as he usually pops up at various places of the screen, usually to complete or punctuate a statement started by Ozu. He is also the butt of physical comic violence, no matter where it comes from. (Yes Man has a slight resemblance of the late actor George Burns)

Yoshi

Voiced by: also Jesse Adams

The main cameraman for the LilyMu series, Yoshi is a shy, blond, beer-bellied man, and though he's not important enough to be a main character, he is featured somewhere in every episode, sometimes as a main role (such as in Battle of the Band), but mostly as an easter egg. In, A Christmas Mikey, it is said that if Mikey had never come to Tokyo, Lily would've winded up marrying Yoshi after LilyMu was canceled. He appears to live in LilyMu Towers with the other cast members. Like Yesman, he is also frequently prone to be the butt of violence, regardless of intention. He is also a pirate as it was shown in the episode "Ship of fools".

Minor Characters

These characters appear at least a few times in episodes that follow each of their debut appearances. They are voiced by the principal cast, a couple in-house employees, 4Kids Entertainment's frequent talents, including Dan Green, Bella Hudson and Wayne Grayson, as well as others. Almost all of them appear again at the Christmas party in A Christmas Mikey. Because the show's credits do not match up the voice actors with the characters in the list below, the people who voice each individual minor character are unknown for the most part[1].

Ethel

Ethel is an old, wrinkled lady with a cane who appears at least once in every episode, sometimes with in a speaking role, but mostly as a background extra. Her name is uttered for the first time in Script Assassin, by Guano. In The Lost Pilot, she bumps into Mikey right when he's about to leave back for America, wacks him in the head with her purse, expresses that she loves Lilymu, but wacks him in the head again. In Sumo Of All Fears, she lifts a prop resembling a bus.

Mom and Dad

Voiced by: Dan Green and Zoe Martin

Mikey's parents. They have yet to be seen (they, like Mikey, are probably animated in an American style, since their answering machine(s) and counter top are rendered in this way), but they have been featured in the episodes: The Lost Pilot, Easy Come, Easy Gonard, Lost in Transportation, The Switch, Saving Face, and La Cage Aux Mikey. Even though they never answer their phone when Mikey calls them for help, their rather offbeat answering machine messages nearly always give some sort of help - even if it isn't in the way one would expect. Mikey appears to be their only child.

Sushi Trio

Little sushi-beings that serve as scene transitions or bumpers. They dance around and make cute noises. They are sometimes accompanied by other random characters, such as a sushi chef or a sumo wrestler. They rarely appear out of bumpers, and when they do, they appear for a split-second. They were once shown being eaten by Gonard.
The three main sushi beings are going to star in the Kappa Mikey spin-off mini-series, called Dancing Sushi, currently in production[2]. A female sushi was created to round out the main cast specifically for this mini-series.

Brozu and No Man

Voiced by: Stephen Moverly and Jesse Adams

Brozu is Ozu's twin brother who claims to be the Lord of the Dance and has a very hip hop and arrogant persona and uses a ton of street slang. He appears in the episode Big Brozu. Brozu has his own Hip hop version of Yes Man named No Man, who always yells "Oh no!" (which is odd, considering Yes Man does not shout "yes" most of the time, rather he agrees with Ozu), and who does the turn tables for Brozu's songs. Since he was born one second before Ozu, he says he owns 51% of the company and has legal right to take over and change the LilyMu show from an action theme into a street dancing theme. However, Ozu regained control of his company after he and Mikey beat Brozu in a dancing contest.

Gonard's Mother

Gonard still lives with her in LilyMu Towers, or at least in the same place. In The Switch she has a woman's voice, while in The Fugi-kid, and all the succeeding episodes, she is voiced by Sean Schemmel in a falsetto voice with an Irish accent.

Gonard's Robots

These are Gonard's Robots that are seen in the show fighting the LilyMu Team. They often get destroyed simply and quickly. In "Battle of the Bands" it reveals that they have their own feelings when one of them starts crying. A variation of this is the One Legged Robot which has only a single leg.

Dr. Takashi Katashi

Voiced by: Wayne Grayson

In "Plastic Surgeon To The Stars", he wears a generic doctor headband over his eye, much in the fashion of Kakashi Hatake from Naruto. He performs an unintentional 'pimple enlargement' on Mikey, because he had to do two operations at once (first trying to remove Mikey's pimple, but failing; and turning Yes Man into a muscular man). He did plastic surgery on Socky, to make him beautiful: information which led to Socky's downfall.
Katashi also appears to have a degree in dentistry, according to The Bracemaster. He performs a check-up on Mikey, Gonard, Lily, and Mitsuki, and reports that only Mikey has an overbite, and needs a retainer. Katashi has a dark side as well- he steals Ozu's retainer and family heirloom for its value, with plans to sell it for a green sports car.

Socky

Voiced by: Adam Moreno

Sock puppet pop icon with a mind of its own, spokesperson for Hitoshi Beauty Cream, and rival of Lily for Tokyo Trend's Top 50 Most Beautiful. However, he was removed from the list, after Mikey discreetly revealed that the sock had once been a "dork". He is famous for his motto "Stay Socky". Socky has become one of LilyMu's most persistent antagonists, having appeared in Mikey At The Bat, and in Mitsuki Vanishes, where he attempts to get Lily, and later, Mitsuki, to star in his new television projects. Socky's character shares resemblence with Triumph, the insult comic dog.

Scoop Suzuki

Editor-in-chief of a tabloid newspaper in Japan. Threatened to expose Mikey's pimple to the masses unless he could get pictures of his friends in more embarrassing situations. Bears a strong resemblance to J. Jonah Jameson. He has a cousin in America who works for an American newspaper, who is drawn in American style.

Agent Yoshida

Voiced by: Wayne Grayson

A Japanese government agent that bears a resemblance to Commander Amarao from FLCL, complete with eyebrows (he also wears a similar uniform to the one Naota does at the end of the anime). He arrested Mikey for a crime he did not commit (Supposedly, he stole an invisibility coat). However, later on, he does arrest the real crook, with Mikey's help.
Agent Yoshida is hired by Ozu to investigate a DVD piracy ring in Back To School. However, after months on the case, he finds no suspects. With LilyMu's help, he finally arrests the students behind the crime.

Lily's Mirror

A mirror with a mind of its own, which tells Lily how beautiful - or not - she is. It always talks in a synthesized monotone.

The mirror doesn't speak as much as it use to when the show began. It now acts as a normal mirror but as future episodes occure, the mirror may speak once more.

Speed Racer

An older version of the famed racer. He makes a cameo appearance in the theme song as the LilyMu team's limousine driver, and in the pilot episode. In A Christmas Mikeys parody of It's a Wonderful Life, he can be seen as the hypothetical scratch card contest winner for Lilymu, in place of Mikey, yelling "I'm back!" However, this choice drops the rating for Lilymu down enough for Ozu to cancel the show. Despite having the body of a middle-aged man, he has the voice of a young boy.

Pirate Captain

Voiced by: Dan Green

Captain of a pirate ship and five other pirates. He first appears in episode Ship of Fools when he gives Mikey a pirated video game in exchange for Gonard. Mikey manages to frighten the pirate into abandoning ship (courtesy of the Super Gonard balloon) in order to save Gonard. One of his pirates bears a striking resemblance to Lucky Roux, (one of captain Red-Haired Shanks' pirates) from the anime and manga One Piece. In La Cage Aux Mikey, the Captain fills in for Mikey's dad after they announce their cancelled trip to Japan (It is revealed in this episode that the Pirate's last name may be Ohoulihan, as he accidentally says Mikey has done the name proud). In Lost in Transportation, The Captain is seen as an honorary member of the Chums, the center photo of the wall. He makes an appearance in a sumo outfit in The Sumo of All Fears.

The Chums

Beef Voiced by: Dan Green

A gang of outcast bikers who accept Mikey as an "honorary member" when he is convinced that the rest of the LilyMu cast are leaving him out of activities and, quite literally, vehicles, in Lost In Transportation. They are big fans of Lilymu, and give him the motorcycle that Mikey eventually uses as a regular prop on the show. Mikey is most acquainted to their leader, Beef, who teaches him the Chums bear-hug. Mikey eventually becomes friends again with the cast, but the Chums keep in touch with him using a whistle whenever he needs help. The motorcycle they gave him has been used in several LilyMu sequences.
Beef comes back in La Cage Aux Mikey to pretend to play Mikey's mom, and has his second big role in Hog Day Afternoon as the owner of a bike shop. It is in Hog Day Afternoon that Mikey finally uses the whistle they gave him, but they don't respond, since he angered Beef, and that he's not a member anymore. It turns out they were late in saving him, due to a Viking parade. Mikey is currently under temporary probation, instead of being kicked out of the Chums. In Script Assassin, he has a conversation with Guano at the bar in his cafe, during Guano's depression state.
According to the pictures of honorary members on the wall, the only other celebrities offered Honorary Chums Membership are Socky, The Pirate Captain, and Gonard.

Mr. Stereo

Voiced by: Wayne Grayson

One of Ozu's company sponsors and best business partners in Lost In Transportation. Mr. Stereo sells stereos at bargain prices, and claims that if his stereos don't please his customers, he will do crazy things, even though he does them anyway. Those crazy stunts turn into his one running joke. He has a spoiled son named Timmy who is a huge fan of Lilymu and the Baltimore Orioles.

Pierre

The waiter of the unnamed "Finest Restaurant in Tokyo". He has a French accent, and sometimes, a British accent.

Mikey Cosplayers

Big fans of Mikey, they dress in his LilyMu uniform and show up at social events involving him. One of them resembles Conan Edogawa from Detective Conan, Mechazawa of Cromartie High School, one of the main characters from Cyborg 009, and Zangief of Street Fighter.

The Cat Burglar

Voiced by: Wayne Grayson

An unnamed bandit who steals the invisibility coat in The Fugi-Kid. Throughout the episode, he was thought to have only one arm, due to the other being covered by the coat during the Mikey-witnessed theft. Agent Yoshida has been chasing him for five years-he has stolen over 2,000 cats, plus the bank robberies he committed using the coat and framed Mikey for. Known to Mikey as "The One-Armed Man" until revealed that the coat was covering one arm ("What are you!? Some kind of TWO armed man!?"). His extreme lankiness and strange chin give him a resemblance to characters from the Lupin the Third franchise.
He makes a second appearance in LilyMeow, revealing that he eats the cats after he catches them and that he is also allergic to cats, developing a rash all over his body and going into fits of sneezing when he comes near one.
The Cat Burglar makes a third appearance halfway through The Masked Tanuki, where he kidnaps Mikey, Guano and Gonard as revenge for putting him in jail... twice. By now, he is no longer allergic to cats (which he explains, "I... got better. Like magic!"), and instead, treats them like his minions. He also appeared to have broken the habit of eating them.

Suave Mikey

Voiced by: Michael Sinterniklaas

First appeared in Ship of Fools. He looks exactly like Mikey (making him one of the only other known people in Japan to be drawn in an American style along with Lawrence Von Martenhouse), with the exception of his black sunglasses and noticeably refined demeanor. He unintentionally fools Lily, who thinks that he is great, and Mitsuki, who thinks that he is a jerk, into thinking he is the real Mikey. He can also play the Saxophone.

Spartacus Clone

A good imitation of the Thracian, cued in to yell something at the most opportune time (such as "I am spartacus!"). In the episode Ship of Fools, he shouted out "I'm Spartacus!" while others in a large group were claiming to be Mikey.

Ozu's Robots

Ozu's robots that first appear in the theme song of Kappa Mikey. They reappear as security robots in Mikey Impossible, where in order for Mikey and Gonard to get past them, they have to answer the riddle of the robots. One of them starts reciting the famous "Riddle of the Sphinx", but Mikey just walks past them while being given the riddle. They appear again in Mikey Likes It (Garbage), dancing with Mitsuki, Guano, and Mikey in The Recycling Song.

News Reporters

Unnamed reporters who often get involved with the LilyMu team from time to time.

News Anchor

A grey-haired man on TV who makes his first appearance in Ship of Fools. He announces the news from time to time.

Mr. Tatami

Voiced by: Dan Green

Former owner of Tatami Megastore, a carrier of LilyMu merchandise, and the Tatami Room. Father of the Tatami Twins. Mikey owes him 20 million yen, until Ozu bought the Megastore from him, making him an employee of Ozu.

The Tatami Twins

Two immensely fat little boys who are the sons of Mr. Tatami. They mistake Guano for a toy, and even throw Lily and Mitsuki into the 'Tatami Room' for 'shoplifting' (trying to save Guano). They could be a reference to the classic Mario Bros. (orange and green shirts & overalls), who looked equally chubby at the time. Their heads look almost exactly the same as the Troublemaker Studios's logo. Their voices are also exactly like Luffy's voice from One Piece.
They make a second appearance in Manic Monday, purchasing Gonard and Guano's cursed tiki idol, in an attempt to pass on the bad luck. Unfortunately, the tiki has the opposite effect on them instead, earning them an hour-long sweep of the Megastore.

Lawrence Von Martenhouse

An American actor (also drawn in an American style, like Mikey). He played Captain Impressive on American TV several years back, and this has made him Mikey's childhood hero. He puts on a rather embarrassing Dum-Dum Show at the Tatami Megastore, the result of which 'inspires' Mikey to become a bad boy. Von Martenhouse eventually gets to be Captain Impressive one last time, trying to stop a riot that Mikey started. He is currently on the Dum-Dum Hour.

Kello

Voiced by: Zoe Martin

A small kitten that Mikey finds and adopts in order to get attention for himself in LilyMeow. The kitten ends up stealing the spotlight from the entire LilyMu cast, since he is "cute". After failing to squash the LilyMu cast for proving more popular than him, he was posted on a Teletubbies-like TV show where he is thrown up in the air and sprayed with water. He is a parody of Hello Kitty. In later episodes, he shows up as just an anonymous kitten.

Dr. Igor

Voiced by: Marc Diraison

Appearing in Big Trouble In Little Tokyo, Dr. Igor is a mad scientist who lives on in the 'secret floor' (the 13th) of Lilymu Towers, and the only way to get there is by revealing the secret panel behind all the other buttons in the elevator. He claims to have created all the monsters in the old monster movies in the past, and invented ways of making them huge. Now, he makes a hobby out of shrinking monsters so they become tiny. In Le Femme Mitsuki, Dr Igor reveals to be a part time Usher at the Movie Theater. His face bears a strong resemblance to Vash the Stampede from Trigun. He is also clearly a parody of Vash the Stampede based on his height of at least 8 feet, his similar coat and the frames of his glasses. He also might be an additional parody of Dr. Souichi Tomoe from Sailor Moon, as he is seen in the dark at one point with the audience only seeing the light reflected off the glasses as well as only his mouth moving when he kidnaps Guano in Big Trouble In Little Tokyo.

Forbes

Dr. Igor's "son" and assistant. He resembles a demon with a fox's face, bat's ears and wings, chicken's feet, scaly dinosaur arms (he claims he has more than one pair of arms), goat's horns and a tail in contrast to Dr. Igor's human appearance (either his mother looked like this, he was adopted, he was created by Igor, or Dr. Igor altered him from his original form). He is very charismatic, and is the only other character besides Mikey known to come on to Lily and Mitsuki without hesitation. He designed the monsters' butts.
