Yeshivat Or Chaim boys school ישיבת אור חיים and Ulpanat Orot girls school אולפנת אורות are two high schools sharing the same philosophy. They are both Jewish day schools, based on the principles of Religious Zionism. Yeshivat Or Chaim is the only בני עקיבא Bnei Akiva yeshiva located outside of Israel. It is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It provides an integrated 9th through 12th grade program. It facilitates a balance of both Judaic and secular studies and is affiliated with the Toronto Board of Jewish Education and the UJA of the Greater Toronto Area.

The Philosophy

The philosophy of Yeshivat Or Chaim & Ulpanat Orot is rooted in the traditions of authentic Religious Zionism. The schools seek to instill in their students a deep and abiding love for Medinat Yisrael Template:HbrmemTemplate:HbrshvaTemplate:HbrdaletTemplate:HbrhiriqmTemplate:HbrnunTemplate:HbrpatahTemplate:Hbrtav Template:HbryodTemplate:HbrhiriqTemplate:Hbrsin.Template:HbrshvaTemplate:HbrreshTemplate:HbrqamazTemplate:HbralefTemplate:HbrzereTemplate:Hbrlamed. Whether planning aliyah or making their lives in North America, students regard Medinat Yisrael as the centre of their spiritual life. Students are encouraged to spend the year after graduation in Israel at an approved yeshiva or michlalot. Yeshivat Or Chaim & Ulpanat Orot capture the totality of the Jewish experience by reflecting its three dimensions: between man and God, between man and man, and between man and his people. Yeshivat Or Chaim & Ulpanat Orot are committed to the personal education of every student and are proud that their student bodies include graduates of many local elementary schools. Personal contact with students is maintained through the use of small classes.
